Good morning, y’all It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
When I saw this week’s theme, I went straight to my Storage Cabinet drawer with the beautiful Scenic Coast Specialty DSP inside. And then I grabbed the coordinating Sunset Coast bundle to go along with. But I wasn’t done – I pulled out the Happy Place stamp set – this wonderful set is now an Online Exclusive – and it works PERFECTLY with this DSP! Take a look-see:
And here’s our theme!
Nailed it! 😎
I started by cutting out a 2 3/4″ x 5″ piece of one of the many beautiful papers in the Scenic Coast Specialty DSP pack – cutting it so that the horizon was in the center (up and down).
I inked the big Happy Place stamp in Versamark and stamped the DSP panel – putting the “horizon” in the stamp on the horizon of the DSP. Then I sprinkled it in black Basics WOW Embossing Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.
When it was all cool, I matted it on Crushed Curry cardstock.
I placed the matted panel where I was going to put it on a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Highland Heather Scenic Coast Specialty DSP, and stamped “Birthday” underneath it in Night of Navy ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the stamped DSP panel to the front of my Highland Heather card base. Then I adhered the matted panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using the Sunset Coast dies, I cut out the sailboat circle and the three birds from Night of Navy cardstock.
I snipped the sailboat from the full die cut and used Liquid Glue to adhere it in the corner of the matted front panel. I used Liquid Glue to adhere the three birds in the opposite corner.
Then I added three white Sunset Sparkle Sequins and the card front was done!
On the inside, I used the smaller Sunset Coast waves image to make a little scene in the corner of my Basic White panel. I stamped it twice in Highland Heather and then underneath that, twice again in Balmy Blue. Using the small round stamp from the set, I stamped a Crushed Curry sun in the middle of the Highland Heather “sky” and then again in stamped-off-once Crushed Curry down below in the Balmy Blue “ocean”.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Highland Heather card base and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Sunset Coast “scene” on the front…
…and more of the Scenic Coast Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I saw where the creator of the Happy Place stamp set, Sharon Armstrong, had used it on the Scenic Coast Specialty DSP and knew I needed to try it, too! And it’s perfect! It pairs with the DSP like butter with crab legs – and they all work beautifully with the Sunset Coast bundle! They were made for each other!!
I hope you like!
