Morning, y’all! Happy Half-way-thru the weekend! I hope it’s going well for you! We had a gorgeous sunny, sorta-cool-sorta-warm Georgia Spring day yesterday – which was lovely!
So – do you like background stamps? I really do – and the new Nature’s Frame set (available Tuesday, 5 May) has an ADDED bonus – a framed area for a sentiment! I used that – plus the Boutique Blossoms bundle and Scalloped Blooms stamp set (both ALSO available the day-after-tomorrow) to make a pretty Birthday card! Take a look-see!
I started by stamping the big Nature’s Frame image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Note: this is a BIG stamp – and having a stamp positioner will prolly be the easiest for you!!
I stamped the Scalloped Blooms sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink.
Then I colored the leaves with my Light Peaceful Pine Stampin’ Blend (available 5 May) and the Dark Lost Lagoon Blend. I colored the berries with the Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend.
I adhered the panel to a Petal Pink mat with Liquid Glue then to the front of my Basic Black card base using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using a Small Blending Brush, I added Petal Pink ink to a piece of Basic White cardstock. Then I used the Boutique Blossoms dies to cut out two “embossed” flowers.
I used the dies in the set to cut out three leaves from Pool Party Pastels Shimmer Specialty Paper and three leaves from Lost Lagoon cardstock.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the leaves and the large flower to the card front.
I tied a bow from two lengths of white Baker’s Twine and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue. I adhered the smaller flower over the top with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I used the die in the set to cut out three small Basic White flowers and adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals (the two on the top left) and Liquid Glue (the one on the bottom right).
I added a Petal Pink Pearlized Faceted Circle to each of the white flowers and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped a second Scalloped Blooms sentiment in Pretty Peacock on a Basic White panel. In the corner, I stamped the Boutique Blossoms flower outline in Tuxedo Black. I inked the fill image with Petal Pink and used the Small Blending Brush to tap-tap-tap the stamp – then stamped it over the outline.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Basic Black card base and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Boutique Blossoms rose on the front…
…and I stamped a little rose bud from the set on the envelope flap – coloring it with the Light Peaceful Pine and Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends.
Et Voila! Oh my – this Nature’s Frame set has all the goodness of a background stamp PLUS a handy spot for a pretty sentiment – like this one from the Scalloped Blooms stamp set! Add some flowers and foliage like these from the Boutique Blossoms bundle and….it’s ready to go to someone special! 🙂
