Good morning and happy Fri-YAY! Hope you’ve had a great week taking advantage of the Sweet Suite Sale and my Sweet Blends Ordering Special!
My card today has nothing to do with either! 😂 Rather – it’s a go-back to one of my fave bundles – the Terrific Toadstools bundle – which carried over into the 2025-2026 Annual Catalog (YEAH!). I paired it with some of our new 2025-2027 In Colors – taking advantage of the pretty designs in the new color family DSP packs. AND – it’s a fun fold for the Creative Creases Challenge – a spot where all we do is…FUN FOLDS! Yeah! I hope that YOU’LL make a fun fold and share it with us this month! 😎 Take a look-see:
You’ll see this card – along with the other Design Team members’ cards – at this month’s Creative Creases Challenge! 😎
And, since Terrific Toadstools is an older set – I think it works for this week’s Paper Players challenge. At least – that’s how I interpreted the challenge. I might be 100% off base! 🤷♀️
I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8″ piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock that, using my Paper Trimmer, I scored along the long side at 3″, 6″ and 7″. I folded the scored lines as a mountain (3″), valley (6″) and mountain (7″). This is the main card base.
I cut a piece of Strawberry Slush 2025-2027 In Color DSP and matted it on a piece of Cloud Cover 2025-2027 In Color DSP and then adhered it to the front of the main card base with Liquid Glue.
I adhered another Cloud Cover design from 2025-2027 In Color DSP to the narrow panel on the front of the card base.
Then I scored a 3″ x 6″ piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock at 4 1/4″ – and folded it as a mountain. That’s the side-step panel.
I cut another piece of Strawberry Slush 2025-2027 In Color DSP (with the leaves all over it), matted it on a piece of Cloud Cover 2025-2027 In Color DSP and used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the front of the side-step panel.
I used Liquid Glue on the bottom 1″ of the side-step panel and adhered it to the narrow bottom strip – aligning the bottoms.
Then I closed the card base and used more Liquid Glue to adhere the smaller portion of the panel to the back of the main card base – thus creating the side-step panel.
For the front, I used the largest Stylish Shapes circle die to cut out a Basic White circle. On that, I stamped a couple of Terrific Toadstool mushrooms – one in Strawberry Slush and one in Timid Tiger.
I stamped the leaf image a few times underneath the ‘shrooms – in Secret Sea – some in stamped-off-twice ink and a few in stamped-off-once.
I made a couple of masks out of sticky notes (stamped the mushrooms on them and then cut them out with Paper Snips) and placed them over my stamped mushrooms. Using the Light Cloud Cover Stampin’ Blend, I “flicked” color onto the circle a few times.
Then I adhered the circle to the card front – using Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped a mushroom top in Secret Sea ink and punched it out using the Terrific Toadstools Builder Punch. I used the punch again to cut out a Secret Sea cardstock stem and adhered it to its mushroom top.
On another piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Terrific Toadstools spotted ladybug shell and the stem in Timid Tiger ink. I also stamped the three-stem image and the three-mushroom-top image in Strawberry Slush ink. I used Paper Snips to cut out both sets of ‘shrooms.
I adhered the Secret Sea and Strawberry Slush mushrooms using Dimensionals under the tops and a little Liquid Glue on the stems. I adhered the Timid Tiger mushroom with Liquid Glue.
I tied a bow from two lengths of white Baker’s Twine and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
The sentiment, from Terrific Toadstools, was stamped in Secret Sea on a piece of Cloud Cover cardstock and cut out with the Stylish Shapes banner die. I adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals over the bow.
I added Timid Tiger and Cloud Cover 2025-2027 In Color Flat Pearls and the card front was done.
For the back, I stamped more mushrooms and leaves on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I flicked on some color with the Light Cloud Cover Stampin’ Blend.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a piece of the Cloud Cover 2025-2027 In Color DSP and adhered it to the back of the card and that was it!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got more Terrific Toadstools, leaves and splatters on the front…
…and a little more 2025-2027 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I do love faux side-step cards – the card itself is so stinkin’ easy that you can spend all your creative brain-waves on decorating! And when you have something as fun as the Terrific Toadstools bundle – and beautiful new designs and colors from the 2025-2027 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP – you just can’t miss! 🙂
I hope you like!

Such a cute card! The mushrooms are perfect in those new In Colors! Poor girl…glad that she’s not so soggy when she returns from a run in the rain. 🙂
Yup – she likes her new raincoat! Thanks, Amy! 🙂
Addy is adorable. It’s amusing to see how quickly she’s learned to pose for the pictures!
Right!? I think they’re ALL hams at heart! Thanks, Sharon! 🙂
What a great faux step card, Mary! I love the toadstool stamp set. You reminded me that I have to play with it again. I just keep wishing it had a gnome or a fairy with it! LOL I’m so happy you’re back! Have a wonderful weekend.
Yes – a little tinkerbell or something! Thanks, Debbie – I appreciate the warm welcome back! 🙂
Mary, this is such a sweet stepper card! I have a new mushroom cottages set I want to use soon, so thank you for the inspiration. So glad to have you back this month! Hugs from your teammate!
Thanks very much, Carrie – it’s good to BE back! Hugs to you, too! 🙂
Pretty toadstools and vibrant colours on top of a lovely side step card, what’s not to like here?
Thanks so much – I thought it came out pretty cute! 🙂
This is so cute, Mary! My favorite parts are the little details like the spritz; like the view from the back including the little piece of circle from the front.
Fantastic!

Thanks, Rae! This is one of my fave folds – and who wouldn’t love fun toadstools?!? 🙂
OMGoodness, this faux step card is actually one of my favorite folds and I usually put the faux step in the center… will have to put it over to one side like you did! Thanks so much for the inspiration! Oh, and those stamps are to die for! LOVE them!
Thanks, Leslie – yep – it’s a great fold that you can set up any way you like. And I love these little toadstools, too! Enjoy! 🙂
I love the mushroom idea, and the new colors are amazing.
