Stampin’ Up! Painted Postage Lavender & Fern Thank You Card

Good morning and happy Monday!  We’re at 353 days till Christmas!

Too soon?!?

I only ask because…with it being so close..is there REALLY any reason to take the tree down?  I mean – it’s pretty with the lights on – and…I’d just have to turn right back around and put it back up!  Seems sorta silly! 🤷‍♀️

My card today is definitely NOT silly – it’s a clean-and-simple little number featuring one of my favorites – the Perennial Lavender Suite!  Front and center is Painted Lavender images set atop a creamy Fern 3D Embossed panel.  The Perennial Postage bundle is key – the die cuts and sentiment bring this card home! Take a look-see:

I know.  But – there IS a Linen Thread bow AND some Adhesive-backed Dragonflies & Birds so…I really DID make this card! 😉

The fun layout is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

And the color palette was driven by the Color Throwdown challenge this week!

I started by embossing a Very Vanilla panel in the Fern 3D Embossing Folder and adhering it to an Orchid Oasis mat for the card front.

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped three groupings of images from the Painted Lavender stamp set. I stamped the large flowers image in Orchid Oasis ink.  Then I added the leaves a couple of times in stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow.

If that’s a little confusing think about it like this – I was making three little “pictures” to cut out with one of the Perennial Postages dies. Still wondering?  Be sure to watch the short video – I’ve linked it at the end of the post! 🙂

I stamped the grassy image near the bottom of the flower cluster in Mossy Meadow ink.

Then, using the middle die in the grouping of small rectangle dies in  Perennial Postage – I cut them out.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the three “stamps” on the card front – spacing them evenly.

I stamped a Perennial Postage sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink on a narrow strip of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the sentiment to an Orchid Oasis mat.

I adhered the matted sentiment onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a simple bow with two lengths of Linen Thread and used a little dab of Liquid Glue to adhere it to the sentiment.

I added a cute little swarm of dragonflies from the Adhesive-backed Dragonflies & Birds and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the Painted Lavender images in Orchid Oasis and Mossy Meadow (stamped-off-once for the leaves and full strength for the grass) in the corner of a Very Vanilla panel.  One sweet little dragonfly escaped from the front to grace the inside, too!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Orchid Oasis mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Painted Lavender images on the front…

…and again on the envelope flap.

Et Voila.  Oh my goodness.  I’ve got lavender planted all around my barn and…it’s for good reason.  It’s gorgeous!  And the Painted Lavender stamp set will bring it right inside and onto your cards!  This image-only set coordinates perfectly with the sentiment-only Perennial Postage bundle – these postage stamp dies are absolutely some of my fave EVER!

Mom?

I KNOW I saw you throw me a pahkorn!

Are you punkin’ me, Mom??

Did you do that “pretend to throw it” thing?! 😡

I hate that game.

So pretty! Love the clean design…and the post office should turn those images into stamps for real! They’re much prettier than most of post office stamps! 🙂 Poor Finn…tricked again. Hope that he eventually found the snack when he went to lay down. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

You know he got it RIGHT after I snapped the photo!! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

  2. I absolutely LOVE this card, Mary. From the colors, to the design, to the texture, from sea to shining sea! I give you permission to leave your tree up for another 353 days…it’ll be here before we know it…lol. As for Finn, poor boy…but at least he won’t get kernel shucks stuck in his gumline 😉 Have a blessed week, my friend.

    • stampsnlingers

Thank you and…DONE! I’ll look at till the cows come home (they’re expetced back in December!). Poor boy, indeed. LOL!

  4. You know I LOVE this card! CAn’t wait for my Lavender Suite to arrive.
Poor Finn, I wouldn’t like that pretend throw game either, and I hope you were nice enough to retrieve the ‘pahkorn’ for him. He looks so disappointed.

    • stampsnlingers

Oh – you know me. That was ONE of about FIFTEEN tossed pahcorns!! He ate them ALL. AND that one! And we don’t play the pretend throw game – it’s mean! Thanks, Julie – have fun with your new set! 🙂

  5. JudiH

Beautiful card – love the 3-in-a-row images! Agree with you on the tree….after 47 trips up-down to basement I sure wish I could leave it up 😆and wish we lived closer cuz my neighbor gave me a huge pot of lavender as a gift and I am allergic 😔 so I would happily add to your barnside collection.
