Good morning and…happy….FRIDAY!? Again?! Sheesh! We were chatting last night on my Zoom that we can’t believe it’a almost November! Almost Thanksgiving. Almost CHRISTMAS! Where HAS this year gone?!? 🤷♀️🤷♀️
My card today comes from a stamp set that I bet…you missed. It’s in the Sep – Dec 2023 Mini Catalog – but…it’s a real fly-over! It’s called Precious Pinecones and it’s one of our Reversible sets! Since it doesn’t have any sentiments – and the Biggest Wish set was still on my desk – I pulled it out to complete the deal. Take a look-see:
The angled panel layout was inspired by this week’s sketch challenge from The Paper Players.
I started by making some designer paper of my own using the stamps in Precious Pinecones.
I first stamped the detailed side of the large leafy image across a Very Vanilla panel in Garden Green ink. Then I cleaned the stamp and flipped it over on the block – so the flat side was UP. I inked that with the Garden Green ink, stamped it off on a piece of scrap paper and then stamped it over each of the leaves. Note: this particular image wasn’t made to be perfectly aligned with the “fill” image – it’s offset a bit to create a more painterly effect. 🙂
I repeated the process with the two Precious Pinecones pine bough images – the larger one using Shaded Spruce and the smaller using Old Olive. I made sure to leave some “empty” space on the panel.
I filled a LITTLE of that empty space using the dots image in Pecan Pie ink – but again, I didn’t fill every little spot. And I DID stamp over some of the leaves a few times! 😎
Using a Paper Trimmer, I cut the panel into three strips – deliberately not making them the same size. You can cut them however wide you like – but I liked the “uneven-ness” of it! 🙂
I used Liquid Glue to adhere a Pecan Pie panel to the front of a Thick Very Vanilla card base at an angle. Then I adhered the stamped panels with Stampin’ Dimensionals – setting them at a fun angle and putting some space between them.
Using Stampin’ Seal+, I adhered a loop-de-loop of Calypso Coral 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim in the corner.
I used the next-to-largest Nested Essentials rectangle die to cut out a Very Vanilla label. I stamped two sentiments from the Biggest Wish set – the first in Pecan Pie and the second in Shaded Spruce. Then I adhered the sentiment over the Calypso Coral Trim with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added some large Brushed Brass Butterflies and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped some more Precious Pinecones images in Garden Green, Shaded Spruce and Pecan Pie inks on a Very Vanilla panel. Then I added one large Brushed Brass Butterfly.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pecan Pie mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Precious Pinecones images on the front…
…and I stamped the small pine bough and the dots in Old Olive and Pecan Pie on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Y’all! How did I go SOOO long without using this cool Precious Pinecones stamp set?! I can’t believe how fun it was making my own designer paper using this set! I’ve got another card cooking in my noggin using this one – so…you MIGHT want to think about getting it so that you’re ready to go! And – I am even more in love with Biggest Wish – what a great sentiment set, right?!?
I hope you like!

Technically – I wouldn’t say I was “in” the stall…
Well – maybe just my nose…. 🤷♀️

Such a pretty card! Love the colors, great “designer paper” background! Finn is just like those runners…as long as his toes are behind the line, then it’s all good. 😉
Okaay – I guess. And – he’s too cute to REALLY be annoyed with, isn’t he?! ;). Thanks much, Amy! 🙂
Mary, I love all the greens on your card. The sketch looks good flipped on its side. Thanks for sharing your beautiful card with us at The Paper Players challenge.
Thanks so much, Suzy – appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
