Stampin’ Up! One Horse Open Sleigh So Very Merry Card

Good morning and Merry Christmas-in-July!  Yes – it’s that time of year when we celebrate Christmas 6 months early!  While ACTUALLY hoping that the NEXT six months goes…very…slowly!

Tip:  it won’t.  The REAL Christmas will be here before you know it!  So – I’ll be making a few cards in the next couple of weeks that you might like to make yourself – as you begin to build your Christmas card stock!

Today’s neutral-toned card rocks two new Online Exclusive products – the  So Very Merry stamp set and the wunnermus One Horse Open Sleigh DSP.  Take a look-see:

Stampin' Up! One Horse Open Sleigh So Very Merry Card - Stamps-N-Lingers

The layout for this one was inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I started by matting a piece of One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ DSP on a Mossy Meadow mat for the card front.

Then I added two strips of the DSP – also matted on Mossy Meadow cardstock.

I stamped the curved sentiment from the So Very Merry set in Mossy Meadow ink.

On a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, I stamped the round angel-image from So Very Merry in Pebbled Path ink.  I colored the image with the Basic White, Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Watercolor Pencils.

Then I cut out the image with the 2 3/8″ Circle Punch!

Using Stampin’ Seal, I adhered a length of the burlap ribbon from the Real Red & Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack.

I popped the art circle over the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I added three Neutrals Adhesive-backed Sequins and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the sweet foliage image from So Very Merry in Pebbled Path ink in the corner of a Crumb Cake panel.  I colored the leaves with the Old Olive Watercolor Pencils – and used the Basic White pencil to color the berries.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the So Very Merry berry sprig on the front in Pebbled Path – with the leaves colored with the Old Olive Watercolor Pencil…

…and a little more of the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the simple images in the So Very Merry set – they look like stained glass windows! – and I really love the sentiments!

The One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ DSP is…stunning.  Beautiful scenes on one side and perfectly coordinating designs on the second side!

Finn Fan Fix

We got three more Kratky tubs in on Sunday – two straightneck squash, a Rosemary and an Italian Parsley!

The tomatoes and basil seem to be really liking this method, too!

We did add some shade cloth over the hoops – it was just getting too warm.

Speaking of…

…had to stop to give the Man a little drink. 🙂

And – we had some visitors again this morning!

There were more of them – but those two were the only ones who would hold still long enough for me to get the shot.  Aren’t they so pretty!?!

  1. Such a pretty card! Love the colors and the layering is perfect! Cool little greenhouse that you’ve got set up! I’d be going straight for the garden hose for a drink in the GA heat too! 🙂

  2. Lovely card! Fantastic garden. Your basil looks wunnermus and it looks you have tomatoes already. Can I move in with you? I won’t be your gardener, however, as I have a black thumb. I will cook for you and clean up your craft area after you make a mess…lol! My daisies arrive today…YAY! Wait till you see what I do with them!! Finn is truly back to normal drinking from the hose. What a kid!!! Have a blessed day, my friend.

I’m already looking forward to your Daisy projects! And yes – you can come here and cook what we grow!! 🙂 Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  3. Such a lovely combination of elements! I love your use of the tall tree dsp on the outside edges – it really “frames” the beautiful image. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

Thanks much, Kim – appreciate you stopping by!! 🙂

Beautiful card! And I am definitely wishing for a slower rest of 2023. Beware: parsley attracts those big fat green cutworms 😕so do inspections in every direction on your tomato plants in the coming weeks.

Hmm – thanks for the warning – I HATE those voracious little boogers! :(. Thanks, Judi! 🙂

  5. Kate

    Great card!
    Happy Harvest!
