Good morning and Happy May Day! So…do kids still make little May Day baskets and take them to the neighbors? Am I totally showing my age?! Probably! But – it was a fun tradition that I remember doing with my grandmother and brother in Garden Grove! At least – I THINK I remember that… 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
But – guess what ELSE today is?? Today is the LAST day to snap up those goodies that are leaving us from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog and Jan – Apr 2023 Mini Catalog! Be sure to take one last swing thru the Last Chance store – right here before it’s all gone-baby-gone!
Now – today’s card is all about what is coming TOMORROW! That’s right – tomorrow is the launch of the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog – with new fun goodies – new Core Colors – and new 2023-2025 In Colors! I can’t wait!! And – I didn’t! Today’s card uses the gorgeous Cheerful Daisies bundle and the Circle Sayings stamp set – plus a bit of Fresh As a Daisy DSP – ALL of which will be available to YOU tomorrow! Take a look-see:
I know – not my usual style! 😉
The layout for this one is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.
And the color palette was inspired by the Color Throwdown challenge.
I started by stamping a Basic White panel with the rounded Circle Sayings sentiment in Moody Mauve ink. Under it, I added the second sentiment in Bubble Bath!
Then I adhered the panel on a Bubble Bath mat to make the card front.
On a strip of Moody Mauve paper from the uber-wunnermus Fresh as a Daisy DSP, I stamped the “rays” image from Circle Sayings in Moody Mauve ink. Then I matted the strip on Bubble Bath and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Basic White, I stamped one of the smaller Cheerful Daisies flowers in Bubble Bath ink and cut them out with the die in the bundled Cheerful Daisies die set.
My friend, teamie and fellow blogger Carol Buckalew demonstrated a cool coloring technique – and I stole it shamelessly! Dipping a Blender Pen into the Moody Mauve ink pad – I used short, quick strokes to add the Moody Mauve to the centers of the flower petals!
In the middle of each flower, I added the flower center image in stamped-off-once Moody Mauve.
I cut out a Basic White “twig” with the Cheerful Daisies die and adhered it and one flower to the DSP strip. I added the second flower with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added a few Iridescent Basic Pearls and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped another Circle Sayings sentiment in Moody Mauve on a Basic White panel. In the corner, I stamped a Cheerful Daisies flower in Bubble Bath – and accented it with Moody Mauve like I’d done on the front!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Bubble Bath mat and into my Thick Basic White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Cheerful Daisies flower on the front…
…and more of the Fresh as a Daisy DSP – stamped with the Circle Sayings “rays” – on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Oh my – the Cheerful Daisies – stamped and colored in Bubble Bath and Moody Mauve – are so simple and beautiful! Have I mentioned that that “twig” die is one of my faves?!? Circle Sayings is very cool – I like when sentiments aren’t just STRAIGHT, don’t you?! And – I don’t think I really need to say more about the Fresh as a Daisy DSP. It toots its own horn very nicely, thank you! 😉

Hadn’t done a boule for a minute so…tried my hand!
Ready to hit the oven – after a 36 hour cold ferment in the fridge – scored all fancy and stuff!
Lookee at those blisters! And a little teeny ear! 🙂
Full disclosure – it could have stood another…10 min?…in the oven. A smidge undercooked in the center. But – Wayne got it sliced and it toasts like a DREAM! And – that extra long ferment means the sourdough tang is PERFECT!
Makes me as happy as a whole pile of Stampin’ Dimensionals on my table! 😉

I journal daily & as I was writing I was thinking of all the fun we had delivering our May baskets, ringing the doorbell & running like heck! We were a family of 5!! I can’t imagine what it must have been like for my mother to get all those little baskets ready for all 5 of us & the craziness it must have been in that household. I don’t think anyone does May baskets anymore…….kinda’ sad!!
Love the card……the simpleness of it is perfect. Can’t wait to get my hands on all the new products & work with the new colors. But, sad to say I don’t know when I will catch up to all the new colors!! I am not sure if I have all the colors from the last re-fresh!! Must get by though……get the colors I use the most!!
