Stampin’ Up! Holly Jolly Christmas to Remember Gift Card Holder – with Video!

Good morning, y’all – hope your week is going well!  I delivered the last of the cookie plates yesterday – and was able to have a nice chat with my friend, who I hadn’t seen for a while!  We ended up agreeing that the four of us WILL have dinner sometime in January.

We even held our feet to the fire and specified….January 2022!! Way to commit, right??! 🙂

My card today is actually TWO cards – my last gift card holders of the 2021 gift-giving season.  I like, and also hate!, giving gift cards.  They’re always the right color – they always fit – they’re always “just what they wanted”.  But…I feel sort of guilty giving them, too.  I always feel like I should have dithered and stressed over the gift more.  But…in lieu of that – I DO like to make a pretty gift card holder.

So…I used the carrying-over Christmas Season stamp set and Christmas to Remember Bundle, with some gorgeous (and ALSO carrying over – eventually!) Painted Christmas DSP.  And – for one of the holders – I grabbed a sentiment from the RETIRING Holly Jolly Wishes set.  Take a look-see:

The TGIF challenge this week actually was instrumental in reminding me that I needed TWO more holders!

So…bonus for you – I actually did a video a while back on how to do this fun fold – and you can check it out right here on YouTube!

Both cards started with a Crumb Cake base and use Cherry Cobbler for the mats.  I matted two different designs from the Painted Christmas DSP and adhered them to the card bases with Liquid Glue.

The fold mechanism is a 4 1/4″ x 9 3/4″ piece of Pear Pizzazz or Evening Evergreen cardstock, scored at 3 1/4 and 6 1/2″ and then folded into a “z”.

Each card has two Basic White end panels.

For the first card, I stamped a Holly Jolly Wishes (retiring soon!) sentiment in Cherry Cobbler for the “front” and a Christmas to Remember sentiment in Cherry Cobbler for the last panel.

I decorated each of the panels with Cherry Cobbler berries, an Evening Evergreen pine bough and a pine cone from the Christmas Season stamp set.  The pine cone is a two-step image.  I stamped the detailed cone in Early Espresso and the “fill” in stamped-off-once Early Espresso.

On the front I added a few Brushed Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots.  Each panel is adhered to the Evening Evergreen fold-out mechanism with Liquid Glue.

The gift card holder is on the middle panel – I adhered a full size piece of the Painted Season DSP with Liquid Glue.  I cut a smaller piece and slid the long edge about half-way thru the scalloped punch on the Double Oval Punch.  I punched that half-circle to create a finger-hold for the gift card.

I adhered that smaller piece to the card base – using Liquid Glue on the bottom and sides ONLY!

Then I adhered the mechanism to a Cherry Cobbler mat and onto the card base with Liquid Glue.

The second card boasts Cherry Cobbler sentiments from Christmas to Remember on both Basic White panels.

I cut the large detailed die cut from the Pine Cones Die set (bundled with the Christmas Season stamp set) in Pear Pizzazz and Evening Evergreen.  I snipped a couple of boughs and adhered them with Liquid Glue.  The small pine cone has a Crumb Cake solid die cut and an Early Espresso detailed die cut – adhered together with Liquid Glue.  I added a few more of the Brushed Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots and adhered it to the front of the Pear Pizzazz fold-out mechanism.

I created the card holder section the same as on the first card, using two different DSP patterns.

On the back panel, I added the berries and boughs in Cherry Cobbler and Evening Evergreen.  And a couple of the leaves images in Pear Pizzazz.

I adhered the mechanism to the Cherry Cobbler mat and then onto the card base and both cards were done!

My Basic White Medium Envelopes got a repeat of the Christmas Season foliage on the fronts…

…and coordinating Painted Christmas DSP on the envelope flaps.

Et Voila!  I am SOO happy that the Christmas to Remember and Christmas Season bundles are carrying over, aren’t you?  They’re so wonderful for Christmas and winter projects.  Note:  they won’t appear in a catalog but…they WILL be available in the online store! They’re especially perfect when paired with the Painted Christmas DSP – which will be coming back but not until the NEXT Mini Catalog comes out next summer.  So…get it NOW if you want it before then!   That same advice applies to the Holly Jolly Wishes set – with it’s awesome sentiments.  It’s GOING AWAY for good come 3 Jan – so…hop to, if you want it!!

I hope you like!

  1. Yay for the last Christmas gift done! What a pretty card, love the fancy fold design. And yeah, those dimensional covers do sneak up on a dog and stick when you least expect them to… 😉

  2. Susan K

Had to work all day yesterday and got together with friends last night but still wanted to comment on this beautiful card! Needless to say, I love it and think it’s wonderful for putting other goodies, like postage stamps, in the holder section! TFS. Love Finn’s decoration. Maybe next time, you could color it red for him! 😂

LOL! Finn The Red-Nose Aussie! I love it! Thanks so much, Susan – and that’s a GREAT idea for a gift card holder! Perfect! 🙂
