Stampin’ Up! Dandy Dragonfly Garden Sneak Peek on the Diagonal!

Good morning!  Did y’all see the convergence?  We went down into the arena where we had as clear a shot as there is (we’re sort of surrounded by trees).  We saw the two planets pretty close together – but…the pair slipped down below our effective horizon around 7:30.  I’ve seen photos online, but… we didn’t get to see it.  The moon, on the other hand…the MOON!  Oh my.  We had the binoculars and…it was…just amazing.  The detail I could see with just the nocs made me really think a telescope would be cool! 😉

So – one little admin-y note…I’ve had an opening come up in my Online Host Club (one member is planning to join the team in January – whoo-hoo!!!).  So…if you’d like to get Stampin’ Up! goodies a little at a time – AND earn Double Peppermints and Stampin’ Rewards (aka “free money to spend”) – without any “host duties”! – then give me a holler!  The club starts in January!

My card for today showcases a new Suite in the Jan – Jun 2021 Mini Catalog – the Dandy Garden Suite!  For this one, I’ve got the Dragonfly Garden stamp set, some Dandy Laser-Cut Paper and Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ DSP.  Take a look-see:

This layout is from the current CAS(E) This Sketch challenge!

I started with a piece of Smoky Slate card stock.  Using random-width scraps of Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ DSP – I adhered the strips on a diagonal using Liquid Glue.

Then I used my Paper Trimmer to cut off the excess DSP.

I stamped the pretty wildflower image from Dragonfly Garden three times in Smoky Slate in the corner of the card front.  Then I matted the panel on Blackberry Bliss.

I pulled out my Dandy Laser-Cut Paper and adhered a round – leafy frame to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Smoky Slate, I stamped the Dragonfly Garden sentiment in Blackberry Bliss.  Then I cut it with my 2 1/4″ Circle Punch.

I added the flurry of dragonflies image in Smoky Slate – and gave it some “faux stitches” with my Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker.

Then – I popped the sentiment over the laser-cut frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I snipped a very thin piece of Stampin’ Dimensional – and adhered it to the body of one of the Dandy Laser-Cut dragonflies – then I used that and a little Liquid Glue to adhere the dragonfly to the sentiment.

I used a Glue Dot to add a Ladybug Trinket and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Dragonfly Garden sentiment in Blackberry Bliss on a Whisper White panel.  Then I stamped a couple of large dragonflies in Smoky Slate.  I added the “wing fill” image in stamped-off-once Blackberry Bliss, and some Smoky Slate fly-flurries!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Blackberry Bliss mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Dragonfly Gardens dragonflies on the front…

…and more Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Man – I do love this Dandy Garden Suite, don’t you?  With the Dragonfly Garden bundle and the coordinating Garden Wishes Bundle…and the beautiful papers!  Dandy Garden 6″ x 6″ DSP and Dandy Laser-Cut Paper!  If you love it all – take a look at my In The Garden Special Bundle.  😉

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Finn’s Grandma Kate sent his Christmas present and it arrived a day ago.

There was no waiting.  He KNEW it was for him and he wanted it now!

He’s an instant gratification kinda guy!

We opened it to discover…Pumpkin Spice Meatballs.

Which sounds….disgusting.

To us.

Apparently – to a dog – it sounds like “I’ll have a Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte with extra whipped cream and chocolate swirls”.

There was no holding back.  And any manners to be seen were…bad! 😉

FINALLY – the mom was able to get the bag open (apparently it was child – adult – Aussie proof) and….

Thanks, Grandma Kate! 🙂

    O.K. pick, I guess. LOL!

  2. Yes, I adore this suite and love what you did with it. I was going to bake cookies for Finn but my good intentions went out the window. I didn’t bake anything for anybody! I’m hoping to have more energy in 2021. Happy to hear we’ll be having a new team member.

I WISH I hadn’t baked cookies – cuz…I can hardly keep from eating them! 🙂 Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂

  3. Pretty card! Love the designer papers that you used, great colors! Hahaha…yep, looks like Ginny when the treats come out at our house. 😉

Right?? He’s practically cross-eyed looking at it! LOL! Thanks, Amy! 🙂

    Hi Mary,
That card is great for using up the scraps from other projects!! I have a lot of scraps (smile)
Glad you had a place to see the star! We were totally fogged in all day long…..not a chance to see anything…..couldn’t even find the moon. That was sad…..but I’ve enjoyed seeing pictures that other people took.
    Finn has a good grandma!!

Thank you, Faith – it was a fun sketch! Sorry you didn’t get to see the star with your own eyes. 🙁
