Happy Friday, y’all! I’m not sure what we’ll be up to on the weekend – but TODAY…I’m going to get my haircut!
I am – by turns – excited (I need it cut SO bad – and Wayne keeps saying “I could cut that for you! 😳😳😳) – and a little terrified. Been a minute since I’ve ventured to the other side of Atlanta. Part of me is pretty sure it’s the land of the walking COVID-spreaders. Which is ridiculous. Don’t judge – I have a very fertile imagination! And three masks, so…I’m all good! 😷😷😷
But – the first “twin” wedding is approaching fast – 6 Sept!! – and…the hair situation is…dire to say the least. Also? I am WAY more askeered of Wayne’s potential efforts to “help” me, so – north I shall go!
On to why you came!
If you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube live, I appreciate you spending some time with me – if not, but you’d like to see the replay, here ’tis! 🙂
This is a double-easel fun fold wedding card. Matt – if you’re reading this – stop reading right now. 😉
This one might not be the most traditional wedding card – but it felt like it fit them well – they’re fun, smart-as-whips country kids – so I felt like a little rustic was the way to go. But – it’s also a WEDDING so I thought a little elegant was ALSO the way to go. Enter…the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and bundled Sunflowers Dies. With a little help from the Forever Blossoms stamp set for the perfect sentiments. Take a look-see:
I started with the double easel – which is a 4″ x 10″ piece of Bumble Bee cardstock, scored at 5 1/4″ and 7 5/8″ on the long side. Fold at the score lines – the 5 1/4″ score is a “valley” and the second line is a mountain.
Next, I adhered panels of Misty Moonlight 2020-2022 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP to the easel. Then I adhered the whole thing to the front of my Crumb Cake card base.
I used an Ornate Layers die to cut a fairly large Whisper White frame and adhered it to the larger panel with Liquid Glue, then added a Misty Moonlight DSP Stitched Rectangle Die to the center.
On the front of the easel, I used Liquid Glue just on the bottom portion of a Square Vellum Doily to adhere it to the easel panel.
I stamped the big Celebrate Sunflowers image in Early Espresso on the wood-grain design Bumble Bee 2020-2022 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP and cut it with the solid flower die in the Sunflowers Dies. I used the detailed flower die to cut an Early Espresso flower. I adhered it to the solid flower with Liquid Glue in the center.
Using the flower-center die, I cut a Bronze Brushed Metallic cardstock middle and popped it onto the flower with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
I cut Very Vanilla, Whisper White and Vellum cardstock leaves with the Sunflower Dies and a few Poinsettia Dies berries from the Brushed Metallic cardstock and Bumble Bee 2020-2022 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP.
I adhered the leaves to the front easel panel with Liquid Glue.
Using Stampin’ Seal+, I added some Bumble Bee 2020-2022 Ribbon in three loops. Then I adhered the flower over top with more Liquid Glue.
The sentiment, from Forever Blossoms, is stamped in Early Espresso on a Crumb Cake strip. I edged the strip with my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker and popped it on with Dimensionals.
A few Pearl Basic Jewels finished off the card front!
On the inside, I added a second Forever Blossom sentiment in Early Espresso to a Very Vanilla panel. In the corners I stamped the small flower from Celebrate Sunflowers, also in Early Espresso. I used a Blender Pen to “pull” Early Espresso ink out to color the flower center, and ink from the top of my Bumble Bee ink pad to lightly color the petals.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Bumble Bee mat and into the Crumb Cake card base and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the small Celebrate Sunflowers flower on the front…
…and more of the Misty Moonlight 2020-2022 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Y’all know I LOVE a Double-Easel. So easy and yet…so WOW-inducing! Especially when the gorgeous Celebrate Sunflowers bundle graces the front of the easel! This might be my fave double-easel EVER!!
And – you know, if you don’t need a wedding card, select a different sentiment and you’re good to go!
I hope you like – and are cutting cardstock to give this one a go as we speak! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix
When we bought Finn’s new super-duper orthopedic bed…
….I put the OLD bed in the living room. Thinking he might want to sleep on it during the day.
No. That is NOT what he wants to do with the old bed.
OBTW – Wayne didn’t realize I was recording, so…
He’s a little goofy, for sure, but ALWAYS good for a chuckle!!
Finn. And sometimes Wayne, too!
You’re welcome.

Oh, I loved listening to Finn pant and move! Of course, I LOVE your card and can’t wait to CASE it for a birthday card that I can hand deliver on Monday. Thanks for doing the video. I’ll be watching it again as I construct mine. Have a great weekend and haircut! It’s not fun wearing a mask during that process. I’ve done it twice since March BUT I have a frost coming up in September…that should be interesting!
Thanks, Karen – the mask was less problematic than I figured! Enjoy the video – and the CASE!! 🙂
I CASE’d it today but can’t post until after Monday when I hand it to the recipient. Glad the mask wasn’t that much of a problem.
Nope – pretty easy! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂
Yay! So glad that you’re venturing out to get a haircut…don’t be scared, you’ll be okay. I went 2 days after we finally were allowed to here and I’ve already been back for a second haircut. 🙂 Such a pretty card! Love your design and the colors are perfect. Apparently Finn does not think that his bed should be there…and he’s helping you to move it to just the right spot. 😉
And he moves it several times a day. Hard to get it Juuuuusst right! Thanks, Amy – I survived. Hair is too long but…we’ll see if I can make it work! Might have to go back sooner than I figured on! 🙂
