Stampin’ Up! Flight of Fancy For the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hey y’all – it’s Thursday, so it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  Today’s a sketch challenge – and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

There’s a sweet little image-only stamp set, in the Aug – Dec 2020 Mini Catalog, called Flight of Fancy – that covers Christmas, Halloween and Valentine’s Day!  I used it – and a sentiment from the Celebration Tidings stamp set – to make a Christmas card today, adding it to some pretty Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch!

My color palette is from the Just Us Girls challenge this week.

I started by matting some Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP on Merry Merlot for the card front.

Next, I used a Stitched So Sweetly die to cut a Crumb Cake rectangle, which I embossed in one of the new Greenery Embossing Folders – I ran it thru the SCEM twice to get both ends of the rectangle embossed.

Then I adhered the die cut to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I used my Stamparatus to stamp the angelic Christmas image on a piece of Very Vanilla.  I inked the image with Tuxedo Black and wiped the ink off the snowflakes with a damp rag.  Then I stamped the panel.   I did that a couple of times to get the image as dark as I wanted.

I used my Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Write Marker to color the snowflakes on the stamp and stamped them with the Stamparatus.

I cut the image with an oval Stitched Shapes Die.

I colored the image with my Light Pretty Peacock, Light Crumb Cake and Light So Saffron (just a touch in her hair) Stampin’ Blends.  I also used the lid of my Merry Merlot ink pad and a Blender Pen for parts of the image.  Her wings got a brush from my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

I adhered the oval to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For the Celebration Tidings sentiment, I inked and stamped the words – individually in a straight line – in Versamark on a strip of Merry Merlot.  Then I sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it.  I snipped banner ends and then folded each end on an angle to create the banner.

I adhered the sentiment banner with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals under the middle part of the strip.  Those double-stacks helped the banner keep its shape!

I colored some small Pearl Basic Jewels with my Light Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blend and added them to her “belt”.  Then I gave the larger snowflakes a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.  A final Rhinestone on the sentiment banner finished off the card front!

On the inside, I added snowflakes from the Flight of Fancy set in Pretty Peacock on a Very Vanilla panel – and gave a few of them a Rhinestone.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Merry Merlot mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Pretty Peacock snowflakes on the front…

…and more of the Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Isn’t she so sweet?  Even in her Flight of Fancy “witch” persona she’s way more “adorable” than scary!

And I’ve said it before but…it bears repeating!  The new Celebration Tidings stamp set is a real workhorse for all your seasonal cards!!

I’m loving all the multi-holiday stamp sets that Stampin’ Up! has brought us in this new catalog, aren’t you??  Makes them so versatile – and they bring you a lot of bang for your buck!  I hope you like!
