Stampin’ Up! Heartwarming Snow Wonder with Video Tutorial

Happy Friday, y’all!  Hope you’ve got some fun plans for the weekend – I’ve got sourdough proofing in the fridge so will be making bread!  Yes.  Bread.  And – I’ve got enough tomatoes gathered up to make a big batch of Marinara in my Mealthy Multi-Pot to freeze.

Yep.  I’ve turned into a regular Martha Stewart.

Well.  Martha Stewart-adjacent, maybe! 😉

So, if you were able to join me yesterday for my YouTube live, I appreciate you spending some time with me – if not, but you’d like to see the replay, here ’tis! 🙂

I just got this sweet Snow Wonder stamp set, with its bundled Snow Time dies and I figured I’d pull it out (and mount the stamps!) and make a fun Christmas Card.  I paired it with some Heartwarming Hugs DSP – and a fun new embossing technique, too!  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is inspired by this week’s Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge.

I started with some Heartwarming Hugs DSP and matted it on Real Red for the card front.

Next – I cut a small panel of Basic Black and did some “sprinkle heat embossing”!  I saw this technique over on Kylie Bertucci’s page – and thought it looked like fun.  AND the perfect way to make “snow”!  Or…stars – whichever you need for a card! 🙂

You can see the technique on the video, but…basically – I tapped my Versamark Ink Pad all over the panel.  Then I sprinkled White Stampin’ Emboss Powder over the Versamark.  LIGHTLY!!!  It really doesn’t take a lot, y’all!

I used my Heat Tool to heat set the powder – and it became…snow!

When it was all cool, I matted it on Real Red and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On Whisper White, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the Snow Wonder snowman in Gray Granite, two trees in Mossy Meadow, and the sentiment in Real Red.  Then I cut them all out with their coordinating die in the bundled Snow Time die set.

I colored the snowman with Watercolor Pencils in Early Espresso (twig-arms), Pumpkin Pie (Nose and scarf) and Real Red (holly berries and cap).  I used the Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker to color the holly leaves on his cap.  Then I brushed just the “snow” part of the man with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

I ran some Stampin’ Seal+ across the bottom of the embossed black panel and adhered a length of Mossy Meadow 3/8″ Diagonal Striped Ribbon.

Then I started adhering die cuts – starting with a tree image – then the snowman – and then the second tree.

I popped the die cut sentiment on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using my Dark Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend, I colored three clear Wonderful Gems and adhered them on the sentiment.

Finally – I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels in the sky – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second Snow Wonder sentiment in Real Red on a Whisper White panel.  Then I used my Stamparatus to add the trees image in Mossy Meadow in the corner.  I made some snowflakes using the Snow Wonder image – in Soft Sea Foam.  I inked the stamp and stamped it off once on scrap paper, then stamped it on the panel twice without re-inking.  I added a few Rhinestones, too!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Real Red mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Mossy Meadow trees image and Soft Sea Foam snowflakes on the front…

…and more gingham paper from Heartwarming Hugs on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  I love the vintage feel of this Snow Wonder set – and the fact that you can cut all the images with the bundled Snow Time dies.  AND – those two corner dies you see?  They EMBOSS your cardstock with snowflakes! Cool, huh??

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Finn is a working dog.

Okay – he was BRED to be a working dog.

He’s not real great at the whole herding thing – but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t actually CRAVE a job to do.

He really does just want to help and to feel important.

So?  We let him carry our water.

Literally.

And it’s cuter than anything you’re going to see on this blog!

Check it.

He always beats us back to the house – he’s on a mission and isn’t interested in dilly-dallying about!

And never ever puts the bottle down! And – so far – hasn’t crunched any of the bottles! 😉

Have I mentioned how much I love this goofy little man?!? 🙂
