Morning, y’all! Hope you’re ready for a good weekend – and that the weather cooperates for you.
Speaking of weather – the rain and humidity didn’t play nicely with my bread. It’s got nice sourdough flavor and good internal bubbles but…it’s more like a…disk…than a loaf. Which does NOT mean that we’re not eating it like it’s going out of style! 😂😂😂
It’s a process – one that I am still learning. Previous recipe turned out better (as in more loaf-ish!) so – there’s hope! Going to go get more flour. I SHALL NOT GIVE UP!
On a different note – I ALSO made some Fresh Tomato Marinara in my pressure cooker and it is awesome! Used it to make a Chicken Parm for dinner – and froze the rest! Yummo!
Okay – now that my inner food-blogger has been appeased…let’s talk cards!
I’m planning to be live tonight at 7pm Eastern – over on my Stamps-N-Lingers FB page. We’ll make a fun card using a few different sets – maybe you can take a guess from the title of this post?
No? Well – here’s a sneaky peek!
It’s kinda fun – so I hope you’ll be able to join me!
Tonight. 7pm eastern. Right here!

Finn Fan Fix
Looking forward to your video tonight! I haven’t made bread since I was a kid…Publix makes a really good sourdough loaf, so if you need to cheat and put one of theirs in place of one that you made, I won’t tell. 😉 Poor Finn, he’s so misunderstood…if only you’d let him herd you to whatever he needs, he’d be all set. 🙂
If only he knew HOW to herd! I tried to teach him to ring a string of bells on the back door to go out but…he’s simply not that invested!! Thanks, Amy – we’ve eaten a loaf or two of the Publix sourdough and it IS good. Actually – so are ALL their baked things! 🙁 Thanks, Amy! 🙂
My dog is more demanding than that. He has my husband and me on a schedule. No need for a clock! Do you have a recipe for that marinara? Did you use an instant pot?
Finn is the quintessential go-with-the-flow. Not much runs on a schedule for him – he cracks an eye in the morning and if no one is moving…rolls on his back and continues snoring. It’s a pretty wonderful trait! I used this recipe from my fave food blogger – Marci-Tidbits: https://tidbits-marci.com/instant-pot-marinara-sauce/ I didn’t use any meat. Also didn’t have celery so sprinkled some celery seed in – didn’t measure. Just a wag. Might have used more onion cuz I had them “open”. My tomato mix was about half plum, a bunch of my sweetheart grapes – like about 2/3 of the remaining half (10 cup total) – and then various of my other “sandwich” tomatoes – the ones that didn’t grow real “pretty”. And I used my Mealthy Multi-pot…my version of the Instant Pot. Immersion blended in the pot when done. Even my “I don’t really care for tomato based sauces” husband liked it!! 🙂
Too funny! Anne’s Yorkie would do that, but if you said the right word (outside, for example) she would turn into a bouncing ball of energy and head for the door (or whatever).
Set my alarm for tonight if I am not in the middle of a batch of pickles or something. King Arthur bread flour is great for breads. Second choice is Gold Medal all purpose.
I made 4 loaves of zucchini bread yesterday and they all fell in the middle. Looked awful, but tasted good. 🙂
I got a 10 pound bag of Gold Medal from Costco! I’m pretty sure the humidity was my problem. But I think if I cut them into disks I can make french bread pizzas!! 🙂 Thinking sourdough pancakes for breakfast tomorrow! Yummm! Sometimes when I say “outside” – he tilts his head and gives me the lips – but…never races to the door to make it more definitive! Hope to see you tonight!
