Stampin’ Up! Festive Corners Sneak Peek Halloween Card

Good morning, my peeps!  Hope you had a great weekend!  With – hopefully! – good weather.  And maybe a little socially-distanced fun thrown in along the way!

Jsut a quick note – this is the 3rd of August…so…this is your last day to GATHER up Bonus Days coupons!  And – tomorrow will be the day you can start SPENDING them! Whooo-hoo!

And – something else is happening tomorrow…

What was that again…

Hmmm…

Oh – yeah.  The Aug – Dec 2020 Mini Catalog goes LIVE to customers!  YEAH!!

If you remember – the new Online Store is ALSO going active tomorrow at 7am Mountain Time!  I gave you some tips and info on that the other day – check it out right here if you need a refresher.   I’ll also send a reminder later on today, JIC! 🙂

Now.  My card!  I used a little stamp set that I’ve been enamored of since I first saw it in the new catalog – it’s called the Festive Corners set.  It covers Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day!  I made it for Halloween, with the addition of some Magic In This Night DSP.  Take a look-see:

You might notice that it’s sort of….tall!  And….skinny!  Yep – that’s cuz I played along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week!

I started with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and, in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamped the fun Festive Corners spider-web corner image in the top right hand corner.

I set the Spooky sentiment stamp in place and used it as a guide for the second – reversed – spider web.

Next, I stamped the aforementioned sentiment in Cinnamon Cider ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere a piece of Magic In This Night DSP on the bottom of the panel.

The last thing was to stamp the little spider-dude (dude-ette?) in Tuxedo Black.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pumpkin Pie mat.

I wrapped a piece of Cinnamon Cider Ribbon around the panel, covering the seam, and tied a bow.  Then I popped the whole thing onto a Basic Black mat with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A couple three Iridescent Pearls finished off the card front!

On the inside, I stamped the corner-sentiment in Cinnamon Cider in the top left-hand corner of a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I added a Pumpkin-Pie matted piece of the Magic In This Night DSP at the bottom.  A couple of Tuxedo Black spiders – and Iridescent Pearls! – finished it off!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black mats and then into my Cinnamon Cider card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals – and the card was done!

Et Voila!  I was right to really like this little Festive Corners stamp set – although you may have flown right over it as you looked thru your catalog!  But…go back and take another look – it’s really fun!

I hope you like!  And – FYI – Festive Corners is just one of the fun sets in my Special Bundle #3 – The Holiday Bundle!

  1. What a cool card design! Love the non-traditional size and the clean look! Perfect colors too. 🙂 As for Finn…it looks to me like he’s trying to get every inch possible in front of the AC or fan. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

Maybe he is! I confess I MIGHT have the fan pointed more at me than at him… guess we need a SECOND fan! Thanks so much, Amy! This card made me wish for my envelope punch board back!! 😉

  2. I’m not totally sold on the return of the slimline rage yet, but yours is working for me! Great card and cute paws.

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks! I don’t make them a lot – but wanted to see if I COULD! 😉

  3. Susan K

What a neat design. I like that different size and your use of that stamp set is very creative in that narrow space!
Nope, doesn’t look comfortable to me but Finny looks settled in with it!

Yep – guess it had to be for him, right? LOL! Thanks so much, Susan! 🙂

  4. Linda Callahan

I looked at this stamp set and liked the images but wondered what I would do with them…..you however did not seem to have that problem! Worked perfectly for a slimline design! Love how this turned out – inside and out!

    • stampsnlingers

Yes – I’ve been drawn to this set from the git-go! Thanks so much, Linda – appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  8. Not really into Halloween, but this is a cute card! I really like the slim look and, haha, I still have my envelope punch board. Some things are too good to eliminate from my tools stash. Great way to use cinnamon cider! Poor Finn. You gotta keep that coool dog cool!

    • stampsnlingers

Well – you know me and retired goodies! 🙁 Glad you’ve got your board – it’s sure a handy dude! Thanks so much, Julie!! 🙂
