Stampin’ Up! Easter Promise on Pressed Petals with a Video Tutorial!

Good Friday morning, y’all!  It’s day 498 of Social Distancing.

Not really – just sort of feels like it is, doesn’t it??   It’s really starting to get real – another 30 days??  AND – Georgia just followed other states by issuing a Stay Home Order starting today.  Good idea – it’s NECESSARY.  But…I feel pretty confident that NO ONE will believe me when I whine that having my house cleaned (and not by me!)….IS essential!

And now you know.  I AM a first-world-sissy-baby.

C’mon, Mare – you’ve got a house, and food, and electricity.  The dog and cat and horses have food.  Wayne can fix or cobble together anything we need.  ZEWS 1 is on the job.  We’re healthy – and getting to the two-weeks-since-we’ve-been-anywhere-so-surely-that-means-we’re-completely-healthy point.  So…waaaaa.

Sorry.  I’m over it now.

Since along with a house and power comes internet (Thank goodness!) I was able to go live yesterday on my YouTube channel.  If you were able to join me – I appreciate you spending some of your day with me!  If not, but you’d like to see the replay on YouTube…here ’tis!

The card we made is a pretty – and pretty easy!! – Easter card, using the Easter Promise stamp set from the Jan – Jun Mini Catalog, a sweet Ornate Layers Die cut and some Pressed Petals Specialty DSP (2019-2020 Annual Catalog).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one came from the Mojo Monday challenge…I THINK you can see which sketch I used! 😉

And the Easter theme fits right into the Inspire. Create.  Challenge!

I started with some of the pretty sheet music paper from the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP and matted it on So Saffron for the card front.

Next, with the long, narrow die from the new Ornate Layers Die Set, I cut a Purple Posy rectangle.  I ran it thru the die cutting machine in the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Then, I matted a strip of wood-grain Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on So Saffron and adhered it over top with Liquid Glue.

I cut a Very Vanilla rectangle with the next-to-largest Stitched So Sweetly die and stamped the big Easter Promise sentiment in Mossy Meadow.

Next to it – also in Mossy Meadow – I added the floral spray.

I colored the flowers with my Purple Posy Stampin’ Blends Combo and the stems with my Light Mossy Meadow Blend.

Then I popped the panel onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used a Glue Dot to adhere a Linen Thread double-loop bow, which I topped with a purple Frosted Flower Embellishment and a Champagne Rhinestone.  And that was it for the card front.

Speaking of Glue Dots, though…

Other side of the room by my photo box.  No.  Clue.  Why.  🤷‍♀️

Anywho….

For the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Easter Promise in Mossy Meadow on a Very Vanilla panel.  I added the flowers, in Mossy Meadow, again in the corner, coloring them as I’d done on the front.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a So Saffron mat and into my Purple Posy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Easter Promises flowers on the front…

…and more Pressed Petals Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Spring and Easter all rolled up in one!  Don’t let the Easter Promise stamp set – with it’s elegant flowers and simple sentiments – pass you by!  Easter is coming soon – and cards with messages of the hope of Easter are going to be especially welcome this year, I’m thinking!

I hope you like!

  1. Unfortunately, You Tube didn’t notify me until after the fact and I forgot to set a separate reminder on Alexa. The only saving grace is that I don’t have that set! However, it is lovely and I like all the color combos and the ZEWS Crew.

    • stampsnlingers

You might NEED this set! Sorry you missed us. Next week! 🙂 Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  2. Beautiful card! Love the colors and your design is perfect. Glad that you found your Glue Dots…right where they should never be. 😉 Glad that ZEWS crew is on patrol keeping the perimeter safe. 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Ever vigilant. Trust but verfiy. He loves slogans – but seldom comes up with his own! 😉 Thanks very much, Amy! 🙂

  3. Vickie Bullet

I watched the replay, very pretty card Mary.

  4. Beautiful card! Yes there are yellow crocus (plural: crocus or croci, or crocuses according to one source), and I don’t prune my lilacs. Have you tried my deviled eggs? No mayo.
Sorry I missed the live video.
I will be making this card to send to those who WOULD have been here for dinner on Easter. Silver lining: I won’t have to work as hard if I am not having 30 people here.

    • stampsnlingers

I need to – maybe they’d be less guilt-inducing! Thanks for the crocus tips, Julie! I love having my own personal Master Gardener! 😉 Glad you’re going to get a little break at Easter – but I know you’re going to miss having the company! 🙂

    Hi Mary,
Yes, very glad for internet…..just think how MORE isolated we’d all feel without that….when you do a video, it’s ALMOST like a real visit….love all the ‘chatter’ when everyone chimes in.
SO glad you found the glue dots!! I would have been sputtering ‘words’….and I lose something almost every time I make a card!!
Actually, we are all very blessed……

    • stampsnlingers

I said a few choice ones when I saw them, for sure! Thanks very much, Faith – I love the interaction we get on our videos!! 🙂

  6. Charlotte Hutcheson

We cancelled our house cleaners for this week too…but I paid her anyway. However, house is not clean, but we have air conditioning, food, water, toilet paper (not a hoarder’s amount) but sufficient. And we are both being frugal with our usage of toilet paper. BTW what is ZEWS 1, 2, 3…maybe some zombie patrol? Keep sane, safe, and well (and keep your great sense of humor). Love ya, Charlotte
