Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Moments and Lily Impressions

Happy Hawwwmp Day, y’all!!  How goes your week?

We’re becoming “mold-people” here, I think!  It’s rained.  And rained.  And…yes.  Rained.  For so long now….

But – make no mistake – I’ll take this (and our unseasonably warm days!) – over snow, sleet and cold-of-night anytime!

Now – my card for today is easy.  And also peasy!  It used the lovely Beautiful Moments stamp set from the new catalog, along with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder.  Plus…a FREE goody – the Iris Impressions DSP.  This is one you can get for free with a $50 order (before shipping and tax) while Sale-A-Bration is going on (thru 31 Mar).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from the Sunday Stamps challenge this week.

I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and embossed it in the new Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder.  Then I matted it on Grapefruit Grove for the card front.

From a piece of beautiful Lily Impressions DSP, I cut three strips and punched them with the Triple Banner Punch.

I adhered the strips to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using some Grapefruit Grove twine from the Nature’s Twine pack (2019-2020 Annual Catalog), I wrapped a length around the card front, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.  Then I tied a bow around the strands.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the little girls image from Beautiful Moments. I first inked the image in Smoky Slate ink, then stamped it off once on scrap paper – and then stamped the card stock.   I also added the little grasses image – twice! – and the cute butterflies – also in stamped-off-once Smoky Slate.

Then I added the sentiment in Pretty Peacock.

I cut the image with the largest circle Stitched Shapes Die.  I also cut the largest scalloped Layering Circles Die from Grapefruit Grove.  Then I adhered them together with Liquid Glue and popped them onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A single Rhinestone Basic Jewel finished off the card front.

On the inside, I added a second Beautiful Moments sentiment in Pretty Peacock.  Over top, I added the grasses and butterflies in stamped-off-once Smoky Slate.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Grapefruit Grove mat and into my Pretty Peacock card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more stamped-off-once Smokly Slate grasses and butterflies on the front…

…and more of the Lily Impressions DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How gorgeous is this Beautiful Moments stamp set??!  I love the line-art images and the fonts for the sentiments.  I think it would be an awesome candidate for some paper-piecing, don’t you?  And…Lily Impressions DSP is free.  And stunning.  Questions??  I hope you like!

Today, Finn and I bring you a little glimpse into the lives of Cerah and Cady – his Haflinger pony friends.

He pretty much insisted that you’d want this….and – of course, what Finn wants….Finn gets!

On Saturday, with the pending arrival of the big storms, we finally had a chance to winterize the barn.

The pasture-side of the barn is the “windy” side – so we drop and secure clear tarps in each bay.

It is a total PITA.

But it works – blocking the wind completely and making the barn as snug as it needs to be in the winter!

The ladies go out each day – they have a hay bale in each of two connected pastures – so they can go to whichever one they want.

While they’re out, the staff (me) cleans the linens in their bedrooms, fluffs the pillows, smooths the sheets and leaves their dinner ready for them.

They really really like their bedrooms, y’all! 🙂

They can see each other – lay down and relax – eat their dinner – lick their salt blocks…life doesn’t suck for them.

They come into the barn at night – walking untended into their stalls – to find their dinner with…

…a cut carrot (or two…) in their bucket with their dinner.  That’s about 3 weeks worth of carrots there!

That’s Cerah (mom) on the left – and her daughter, Cady, on the right.

Yes – they’re wet – but…they’re so fuzzy – they’re only wet down about 1/2″.  They’re perfectly happy – it’s warm and there’s no wind.  Perfect – or even a little warmer than they might prefer!

Once the buckets are empty – they each get their dinner mint (no 5-star residence is worth a darned without a dinner mint!) and then they spend a couple hours working on their hay net.
