Good morning! As you come off the weekend – I hope your week ahead is looking promisingly….promising!
And – I want to take a hot-second to urge you to join us for World Card Making Day next Saturday! Read down below for a few details – and links to the Inkin’ Krew World Card Making Day FB page to get started!
My card today is a Christmas card. Makes perfect sense to me since it’s about a 1000 degrees Kelvin outside this week. Next I’ll be making chili!! Georgia hasn’t fully complied with the It’s Fall memo! 😉
I used the Holly Jolly Christmas suite – including the stamp set and bundled Jolly Season Dies, plus the Night Before Christmas DSP. Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from this week’s Fab Friday sketch challenge.
I started with one of fun designs (it looks just like a Christmas tree lot!!) from the Night Before Christmas DSP, that I matted on Real Red for the card front.
Next, I adhered a Very Vanilla Stitched Shapes Die cut circle with Liquid Glue.
Using the two sentiment dies in the Jolly Season Die set, I cut one set from Real Red Glimmer Paper – and two more from Very Vanilla. With Liquid Glue, I adhered the stacks together – then adhered them to the card front with more Liquid Glue. Note: I didn’t use any glue under the “y” in Jolly. You’ll see why in a minute!
On another piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the Christmas stocking image from Holly Jolly Christmas in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Using the little die from Jolly Season – I cut out two of them.
I colored the stockings with my Light and Dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends and my Night of Navy, Mossy Meadow and Real Red Stampin’ Write Markers.
I used some new Snowfall Accents Puff Paint on the cuff of the stockings. I simply applied the paint and heated it up with my Heat Tool. 🙂
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the stockings to the card front – sliding the blue one under the “y” – and pressing the letter down into the “fleece” a little bit! And that…as they say… was that for the card front.
On the inside, I used my Stamparatus to add a Holly Jolly Christmas sentiment in Real Red to a Very Vanilla panel. I also added the stockings in Tuxedo Black, coloring them again with Blends and Stampin’ Write Markers.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Real Red mat and into my Night of Navy card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more stockings on the front…
…and some more Night Before Christmas DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Easy. Peasy. LOVE this Night Before Christmas DSP – and I am ALWAYS a fan of sentiment dies like the ones in Jolly Season Dies, which you can get bundled with the fun Holly Jolly Christmas stamp set. These are so pretty in Real Red Glimmer Paper, don’t you think?

Finn and I had a little selfie session today when I got my card done!
It was totally off-the-paw, so neither of us had done our hair. Or makeup!!
What a sweetheart! And a cute card, even if it was easy.
Thanks, Julie! 🙂
Cute card! Love the little stockings, perfect design! 🙂 Yep, the best selfie is the last one. 🙂
Thanks, Amy! 🙂
What great selfies and sweet hugs and kisses from your boy. Your card has helped me cool off. Florida weather does not know the meaning of fall, winter or spring these past couple of years. I’m ready to leave the palm trees behind and head for the hills. Have a great week.
Yea – it’s plenty hot up here – I can’t IMAGINE it down your way! 🙁 Thanks much, Karen! 🙂
Oh Mary, this is so fun! Love that big sentiment all sparkly – great job! I want to go wander our fave tree lot RIGHT NOW! Lol. Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!
I know – I love the Christmas tree farms and lots! The SMELL!!! 🙂 Thanks much, Heather – appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
So cute! That DSP is a perfect back ground to the larger sentiment. And the stockings hanging is a brilliant inspiration from the sketch! Lovely Christmas card! And VA. hasn’t gotten the fall memo either; I’m ready to make soups but I’m afraid my family would riot in the 90 degree weather! 🙂 Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!
LOL – I suggested chili for lunch yesterday! I got Crickets!! Thanks, Amanda! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
I love that big sparkly sentiment and the stockings…so perfect on that background. Great take on the sketch. Love the selfies too. What sweet hugs.
Thanks so much, Susan – he DOES give awfully good hugs!! 🙂
