Stampin’ Up! Everyday Details Lighter Than Air Special Day Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a color challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I decided to mix-and-match a little – using the Lighter Than Air 6″ x 6″ DSP since it really made sense to me with the colors in our challenge – but deviating a bit (no hot air balloons today!) and pulling out the Everyday Details bundle – one of my faves.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s the color palette we were working with!

I started by adhering a piece of Lighter Than Air DSP to a Bubble Bath mat for the card front.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Everyday Details floral vase image in Pebbled Path (thanks to my friend Carol Buckalew for giving me the lightbulb moment – and reminding me that Pebbled Path is a perfect neutral!).

I also stamped just the vase portion of the image on another piece of the same design Lighter Than Air DSP in Pebbled Path – then used Paper Snips to cut out the vase.

I adhered the fussy cut vase to the stamped image using Liquid Glue.  If you’re wondering – this is called Paper Piecing! 😎

I colored the flowers using my Light Fresh Freesia, Light Bubble Bath, and Dark Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends.  The leaves are Dark Pool Party.

I added the little dots image from the set all around the vase in stamped-off-once Pebbled Path ink

I used the rectangle die in the Everyday Details set to cut out the image, adhered it to a Bubble Bath mat using Stampin’ Dimensionals and then adhered the whole thing to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Everyday Details sentiment in Pebbled Path and cut it out with the small circle die in the set.  I adhered it to the card front – with a Dimensional on the right side and some Liquid Glue on the left.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere a small bow tied with Balmy Blue baker’s twine.  Finally, I added some Balmy Blue Rainbow Adhesive-backed Dots to the card front and a Fresh Freesia Dot to the large flower – and the card front was done.

For the inside, I stamped the top of the Everyday Details image -so…just the flowers – a couple three times in Pebbled Path ink across the bottom of a Basic White panel.  Then I used the Blends to color all the flowers and leaves.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Bubble Bath mat and into my Balmy Blue card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Everyday Details flowers on the front…

…and more of the Lighter Than Air DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh – I do love the colors in the Lighter Than Air 6″ x 6″ DSP – it’s so suble and lovely and SPRING-Y!!  And – with all the options – sentiments and images – in the Everyday Details stamp set – and the wunnermus bundled die set – is it any wonder that it’s one of my favorites??

Stampin’ Up! Perfectly Wrapped Seaside Shore

Last weekend in Savannah is in the books, folks!  This time next week I’ll be home and – hopefully! – unpacked and back in the home-groove!  And it’ll be August, for goodness sake! Can you even believe that??  I mean, the thermometer definitely knows it’s August, but darned if this year isn’t just flying by!  We just did some Christmas in July, but…it’s going to be Christmas-for-real really soon!

And speaking of which – next week is the deadline to be sure you’re on my list to get a free 2016 Holiday Catalog!  If you’ve placed a $50 or higher order with me in the past year, and you let me see who you are (you’ll know cuz I sent you an e-mail and an ordering gift!), then you’re in – you’ll be getting a catalog in the first half of August.  If you haven’t placed an order, this would be a good time – pick $5o or more of your favorite goodies and I’ll automatically put you on the mailing list! 🙂

Now – speaking of goodies.  The Seaside Shore stamp set, which I played with for today’s card, is what I’d call a “sleeper”.   When I first saw it, I wasn’t all that impressed.  I really couldn’t see me making much with it.  But, now that I’ve got it, and have made a few projects with it – I really really love it.  It’s just so much fun – especially when combined with the By The Shore DSP and the Seaside TIEF.  And for this one, I added a couple of sentiments from the Perfectly Wrapped set.  Take a look-see:
