Mornin’, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Happy Stampers Blog Hop. If you’re following along, you’ll know this is a color challenge week. We changed some things up a bit, though – now you may see us use a sketch or design challenge to help us get our creative juices flowing. Yeah! I’m excited to see what everyone did with these pretty colors this week. Hope you are, too, and that you’ll check out all the projects from the ladies-who-hop!
Here’s our color scheme…perfect for the first official day of Fall, don’t you think??
Before I get into my card – let me share the news. I know many of you probably had a sleepless night, worrying about whether I hurt myself getting on my hands and knees to search for my AWOL spider from the Jar of Haunts stamp set. And if that wasn’t concerning you – you were anxious about whether I found him – or vacuumed him up!
Well….I found him! 🙂
I searched thru all my scrap paper. Used a flashlight to peer around under the desk. Emptied the trash cans – searching (a little bit!) thru the papers in them to see if he was there. No joy. I slumped back in despair, knowing I had no choice but to pull up my big girl panties and get down and run my hand all over the floor, hoping I’d feel him. As I gazed dejectedly down at said floor (have I mentioned I need to vacuum?!?), I noticed an oddly shaped scrap of Real Red card stock.
It looked….blurry…on one end.
Could it….? Could it possibly be??
Not holding out much hope, I reached down and picked up the scrap.
And, by golly – there he was!! Clinging stubbornly to that scrap of card stock. I know he was hoping I’d find him – he’d lost his way – and not vacuum him up!
There was much singing and rejoicing! And while he was singing and bouncing around, I gave him a stern talking to for scaring me and a time out. In his stamp case. If he thinks I’m just going to jump up and stamp his little image on something anytime soon…well, he’s just got another think coming to him! 😉
So – what did I do with these colors for today? Well, I didn’t stamp a spider, that’s for darned sure! I pulled out the Suite Seasons stamp set, which is just chock-a-block full of great sentiments for the season. I suppose that’s why it’s called that… I added some trees from Totally Trees and dressed it all up with beautiful Petals & Paisleys DSP. Take a look-see:
I used this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge to help me with my design. Mojo Monday #466:
I started by SNAILing a piece of Mint Macaron design-paper from the Petals & Paisleys DSP to a Rich Razzleberry mat. For the small rectangle on the left, I SNAILd the copper-foil-embossed paper – also from Petals & Paisleys – to a second Rich Razzleberrry mat. And SNAILd that to my card front.
The art began with the sentiment from Suite Seasons. I inked the image with Versamark, then with my Delightful Dijon ink, stamped it on a Very Vanilla square, and sprinkled it with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Then I heated it up – resulting in a shiny, embossed, Delightful Dijon sentiment!
My trees, from Totally Trees, are stamped three times in Versamark ink, sprinkled with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder, and heated. Then I colored the leaves with my Rich Razzleberry, Mint Macaron and Delightful Dijon Stampin’ Write Markers. I SNAILd the panel to a Rich Razzleberry Mat and then to the card front.
My ribbons are from the 3/8″ Ribbon Trio Pack in the Holiday Catalog in Rich Razzleberry and Delightful Dijon. I snipped little banner ends and then wrapped them over the top of the card, securing the end with scotch tape. I used a little line of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to stick the ribbons down on the card.
For the embellishment, I cut a little shape from Copper Foil with my Paisleys Thinlits and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue. Using a Glue Dot, I added a small Classy Designer Button. I finished it off with a little bow that I’d tied with a length of Linen Thread and two lengths of Copper Metallic Thread, adhering that with a Glue Dot, too. And that was it for the card front! 🙂
On the inside, I SNAILd a Very Vanilla panel to a Rich Razzleberry mat. Then I used a small image from the Paisleys & Posies stamp set and – stamping off once first – ran it up the side of the panel in Delightful Dijon.
I SNAILd it into my Delightful Dijon card base, added the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a line of stamped-off-once Paisleys & Posies images across the front…
…and some more of the Petals & Paisleys DSP on the envelope flap!
Et Voila! This pretty Thanksgiving-worthy card holds so many of my favorite things from the Holiday Catalog! And it sure was easy to put together, too! Hope you like!

You may have noticed that the products we recently added to the Clearance Rack include stamp sets, which we’ve never done before!
Early on, Stampin’ Up! released some photopolymer sets to gauge how much we loved the medium – and we loved them a LOT!! As a result, this stamp format became a “regular” part of all our catalogs. The photopolymer stamps included in the Clearance Rack are from the stamps that came out with the early trial releases and they’ll only be available while supplies last.
We know you love photopolymer stamps and these Clearance Rack stamps are no exception. Get them before they’re gone!
