Well – here we are! Friday! Whoo-hooo! I’ve got a busy day – I’m taking the kids to daycare today so they can remember what being there is like – and then I’m headed north for a hair cut! Which, given traffic in Atlanta – is almost a full day’s exercise!! And – is it my fault there’s a JJill right there by the hair salon?! No. No it is not! 😉
Today’s card is a look at a bundle I hadn’t used as of yet – the Opulent Oasis bundle! It’s one of our new Impressions bundle – with a big, pretty die designed to be used with our new Impressions Plate! I didn’t use that one on this card – I only needed some images and foliage die cuts to go along with the pretty Velvet Meadow Specialty DSP! Take a look-see:
The layout for this one is from the Sunday Stamps challenge this week!
I started with a piece of pretty, velvety-flocked paper from the new Velvet Meadow Specialty DSP that I matted on Crisp Cantaloupe for the card front.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the two flowers from Opulent Oasis in Crisp Cantaloupe and two leaves in Peaceful Pine. Note: I inked the stamps and then tap-tap-tapped them with a Small Blending Brush. This removes excess ink and makes the images a little softer!
I used the coordinating dies in the set to cut out the four images. And I also cut out a few leaves – two small and one large – from Lost Lagoon. Lost Lagoon is an AWESOME buddy for Peaceful Pine! 🙂
Using a Small Blending Brush, I lightly added some Daffodil Delight ink to the centers of the flowers.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the leaves and flowers to the card front.
On a 5/8″ x 2 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Opulent Oasis sentiment in Peaceful Pine ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere it to a 5/8″ x 2 3/8″ piece of Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock.
Using some Stampin’ Seal on the back of the matted sentiment, I adhered a loop-d-loop of Peaceful Pine 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon.
I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added five Crisp Cantaloupe 2026-2028 In Color Butterflies and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped an Opulent Oasis sentiment in Peaceful Pine ink on a Basic White panel. I inked the Opulent Oasis leaf in Peaceful Pine – tap-tap-tapped it with the Small Blending Brush – and stamped it over the top of the sentiment. I also added another Crisp Cantaloupe 2026-2028 In Color Butterfly, too!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Peaceful Pine card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Opulent Oasis leaf in tap-tap-tapped Peaceful Pine on the front…
…and more of the Velvet Meadow Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Opulent Oasis lets you make such pretty flowers – and it’s got the foliage (stamped or die cut!) to back it up! Add in pretty sentiments in pretty fonts and…you’ve got a winner! The Velvet Meadow Specialty DSP is just gorgeous – the colors are stunning and the addition of the velvety flocking is the icing on the cake!
