Stampin’ Up! Hearts Come Home For Mittens!

Happy Saturday, y’all – hoping you’ve emerged from the turkey coma and that your leftovers are leftover no more!

Please mark your calendars for Monday, 27 Nov – all day long – Stampin’ Up! is giving everyone FREE SHIPPING with no minimum order!  And I’ll still have my Double Peppermint Points ordering special going on, too – so it’s a double whammy of good!  Get your wish lists going and think about the folks on your gift list this year, too! 🙂

Perhaps you’ll grab up the Smitten Mittens stamp set or the Hearts Come Home set – both of which lent their creative beauty to my card for today.  Take a look-see:

This layout comes from the Sunday Stamps sketch challenge.

I started with the fun Marbled Background stamp for the card front.  I inked it up with Marina Mist ink and stamped it off twice – then I stamped a panel of Whisper White (on the third stamp).  It’s matted on Marina Mist card stock with Fast Fuse.

I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to align and stamp the sentiment from the Hearts Come Home set in Basic Black Archival Ink.

After stamping the sentiment, I ran the matted panel thru the Big Shot in the Softly Falling TIEF.

See the pretty scalloped ribbon??  That’s Marina Mist 3/8″ Scalloped Velvet Ribbon – and it’s from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit in the 2018 Occasions Catalog!  Pretty, huh??  I wrapped a length of it around the panel and secured it in the back with scotch tape.

I cut three little 1 3/8″ squares of Whisper White for the art.  On two of them, I stamped a little mitten from Smitten Mittens in Marina Mist ink.  Those are matted on Silver Foil scalloped squares, that I cut with my Squares Layering Framelits.

The middle art is the snowflake from Smitten Mittens – heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder – and matted on a Marina Mist scalloped square.  I popped all three on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  To finish it off, I added two silver hearts from the Metallic Enamel Shapes and a few Black Rhinestone Jewels.

On the inside, I stamped a second Hearts Come Home sentiment in Basic Black Archival Ink on a Whisper White panel.  Then I added two small mittens – in stamped-off-twice Marina Mist over the top.  I finished with another Black Rhinestone Jewel.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Marina Mist mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Smitten Mittens in Marina Mist on the front…

…and on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Marina Mist, White, Silver and Black – an elegant color combination and perfect for Smitten Mittens and the Hearts Come Home stamp set.  Hope you like!

Finn-Fan-Fix

So – I sorta forgot something while I was gone.

Finn is a bit of a chow-hound-beggar dog.

And he loves yoghurt.

Mostly, I think, because the cats love yoghurt.

Anything they love – he loves more!

The other night, I was taking a bath and indulging in some Pumpkin Pie Chobani.

Don’t judge – people drink wine in the tub.  Why not eat yoghurt?!?

Finn – as is his norm – was sound asleep by the door.

Until he heard the scrape-scrape of me reaching the bottom of the tub.

And then….

Let me get it all, Mom…

Wait – there’s some more on this side…

MMMMM….soooooo gooood…

Stampin’ Up! Neutrals Painted Hometown Greetings

Happy happy HAWWWWWMPP Day, y’all!!  And this is the day I head in to Salt Lake City!  I’ll meet Amy and Jari and Beth at the Stampin’ Up! Home Office and we’ll take a tour – check out where the magic (and the pickin’ and shippin’!) happen! Then it’ll be back to the hotel to get things in full swing on Thursday!

Meanwhile – I’ll be trying to switch back to “day walking” from two days of “night walking”….yawn! 😉

My card today is a layered confection of neutrals (like that?  “Layered confection”! LOL) using the uber-pretty Hometown Greetings Edgelits and a sentiment from the Painted Harvest stamp set.  Take a look-see:

I was playing along with the TGIF Challenge this week…

…but I brought neither card stock nor ink in Sahara Sand – so… I had to get creative.  I decided to add Gold Glimmer paper for one of the neutrals.

I started with a piece of Very Vanilla card stock for the card front.  Yes – the whole card uses Very Vanilla – not the Whisper White that it looks like in my pictures.  I have no idea what happened there… 🙁

The first layer of Hometown Greetings Edgelits die cuts is the Gold Glimmer layer.  Now – here’s a trick.  I had thought out the three layers I was going to use – so I decided I wanted to reverse one of the cuts.  I cut the Glimmer Paper layer by turning the paper upside down on the cutting platform.  When I cut it out that way, as soon as I turned it over (right side up) I had exactly what I wanted.  Take a look at that layer compared to the lowest Very Vanilla layer!  Same die….two looks!

I cut it out and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Next up, I cut my Crumb Cake layer and adhered it over the top of the Glimmer Paper with Liquid Glue.  Be generous and give it time to adhere.

The final layer is cut in Very Vanilla.  After I cut it out, I stamped the pretty sentiment from Painted Harvest in Soft Suede ink on the bottom, then I adhered it with Liquid Glue.  I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Soft Suede mat.

I tied a Linen Thread Billie Moan bow and adhered it near the sentiment with a Glue Dot.  Then I tied a double-strand “regular” bow with Linen Thread and stuck that on top.

I added a few gold heart Metallic Enamel Shapes and the card front was done!

On the inside, I got a little creative.  I cut a single Soft Suede panel and adhered a Very Vanilla Hometown Greetings Edgelits die cut over the top with Liquid Glue.  Then I stamped a sentiment from the Hearts Come Home stamp set in Soft Suede in the top corner.  A gold heart Metallic Shape finished it off.

I Fast Fused the panel into my Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got some houses from Hearts Come Home in Soft Suede across the front.  I alternated between stamping “full strength” and “stamping off once”.  That gave each house a different look – using just one ink color…

…and I used the same technique with the two pine tree images on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  It’s pretty neutral – I hope! I love this little Hometown Greetings Edgelits die set – and it’s so pretty when paired with its bundled Hearts Come Home stamp set.  I like the color scheme for a Fall-kind of card, hence the Thanksgiving-ish sentiment from the Painted Harvest stamp set!  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Hearts Come Hometown Greetings for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We’ve got a full roster playing with today’s sketch, so be sure to check ’em all out when you get done here!

And…here’s the sketch in question!

I decided to try out the super cool Hometown Greetings Edgelits and combined it with its bundled stamp set – Hearts Come Home.  Take a look-see:

Okay – I might have taken a little liberty with the placement of the sentiment! 😉

I started with two pieces of the Merry Music Specialty DSP and matted them both on Whisper White card stock.  Then I Fast Fuse’d the smaller square onto the bigger square for the card front.

Next up – a piece of Night of Navy card stock.  Across the top, I cut the stars image from Hometown Greetings Edgelits a few times.  I adhered a small rectangle of Silver Foil behind the panel with Liquid Glue – for shiny stars!

I matted that on another piece of Whisper White and then adhered it to the card front.

For my “town” – I cut two pieces of Whisper White with just two of the dies in the Hometown Greetings Edgelits.  The one in the back, with the church, is the same width as the Night of Navy panel. The front scene is the same width as the entire card base (4 1/4″).

I used a small piece of Painted Autumn DSP and adhered it behind the church windows.  Then I adhered the die-cut piece directly to the Night of Navy panel with Liquid Glue.

On the “front” piece, I adhered pieces of Night of Navy behind the windows – I wanted the town to look as if no one was home.  Everyone is at church!

See? 🙂

I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to position and stamp the Hearts Come Home sentiment in Night of Navy across the bottom of the panel and popped it over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a single silver star Metallic Enamel Shape and the card front was done.

On the inside, I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig again and stamped a second Hearts Come Home sentiment in Night of Navy on a Whisper White panel.  Across the bottom, I added Night of Navy stars – also from Hearts Come Home.

I added another silver star Metallic Enamel Shape, Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Whisper White mat and into my Basic Black card base.  I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Hearts Come Home stars in Night of Navy across the front…

…and I added some more of the Merry Music Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How wonderful is this bundle of Hearts Come Home stamp set and Hometown Greetings Edgelits?  It makes creating a snowy Christmas Eve a cinch, wouldn’t you say?  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Hearts Come Home to a Wonderful Life

Happy Hawwmp Day, y’all!  Hope your week is going well!  I’ll be heading home this afternoon to begin the frantic packing for my trip on Sunday!  Yikes! 😉

My card today uses a couple of stamp sets from the Holiday catalog.  I used the Wonderful Life and Hearts Come Home sets together to make a pretty little Christmas card in some more non-traditional colors.  Take a look-see:

I used the sketch at the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge to help with the layout.

The not-so-Christmas-y color scheme comes from the My Favorite Things Color Challenge.

Finally, TGIF Challenges was looking for travel-themed cards, so…

I started with a piece of the Christmas Around the World DSP in Pool Party and Fast Fuse’d it to a Night of Navy mat for the card front.

The next layer is from the Year of Cheer Specialty DSP, layered on Night of Navy and added to the card front with Liquid Glue.

For the art panel, I stamped the car from the Wonderful Life stamp set in Night of Navy on a Whisper White panel.  I added a banner in Smoky Slate and the Happy Christmas sentiment in Pool Party.  Then I lightly colored the car with my Pacific Point Watercolor Pencil.

I heat embossed the cute Christmas Tree in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and colored some “sky” with my Aqua Painter and Pool Party Ink.  Then I matted the panel on a Night of Navy panel.

For the presents, I stamped the Wonderful Life image in Smoky Slate on Whisper White and colored them in with my Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker, then fussy cut them.  I popped them on the roof of the car with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered the art panel to the card front with Liquid Glue and then wrapped a length of Powder Pink 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon around the whole thing, securing it in the back with Scotch Tape.

For the sentiment, I went to the Hearts Come Home stamp set.  That sentiment image is a stacked image – which I didn’t want.  So, I cut a strip of Whisper White and used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to add the three parts of the sentiment one at a time.  First I inked the word “Home” with the Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped it.  Then I stamped the other two parts of the phrase in Pool Party, using my Pool Party Stampin’ Write Marker to ink the stamp.

I cut a banner in one end of the strip with my Paper Snips and edged it with the Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker.

I added the banner to the card front with Liquid Glue  and added a Clear Faceted Gem and a silver star Metallic Enamel Shape and that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Hearts Come Home in Night of Navy on a Whisper White panel.  Across the bottom, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I added a row of Hearts Come Home houses in Smoky Slate.  I cheated a touch on the color challenge and colored some windows with my So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker.  Cuz…it needs to look like everyone’s come home!

I added another silver star, Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Night of Navy mat and into my Smoky Slate card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

On the front of my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added some more Hearts Come Home houses in Smoky Slate and So Saffron…

…and gave the envelope flap a bit more of the Christmas Around the World DSP!

Et Voila!  Isn’t that Wonderful Life set so cute?  With the presents and the tree and all the sentiments?  And it has wedding sentiments, too!  Hearts Come Home – even without using the matching Hometown Greetings Edgelit Dies – says it all, don’t you think?  Hope you like!

Finn-Fan Fix

Finn’s a drinker.  A BIG drinker!

A WATER drinker!  Sheesh…what did you think??

The other day, I’d picked up the large pet fountain to give it a good cleaning and we set a bowl of water down – just so no one might have to spend 10 minutes a little thirsty.

Apparently Leo got a little thirsty and came to have a drink.

Finn immediately felt a powerful thirst – darned near parched, I suspect – and hurried over.

There’s some concern that the danged cat might drink every.  Last.  Drop.
