Well – the last TRUE Friday is upon me! I have a whole weekend off ahead of me to sleep. And make cards. And…sleep! Mix that in with some get-up-whenever-or-don’t and a little do-nothing-of-any-import and…I’ve got a great weekend ahead of me! I hope the weekend ahead of you is looking similarly promising! Then a week from today I’ll head to LA and then home to my boys! And girls (can’t leave them out – cuz they’ll be ready for a little attention!).
My card today uses a little new and a little old (-ish!). For the new, I pulled out the new Falling For Leaves stamp set, bundled with the Detailed Leaves Thinlits. I popped it atop a bit of Chicken Wire Elements and the Tufted Dynamic TIEF. Guess which of those you can get now…and which will be available on 5 Sept? Take a look-see:

The layout is courtesy of this week’s Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch.

And the color palette – which I ended up loving, by the way! – is from the Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge.

I started with a panel of Daffodil Delight and I stamped several images from the new Falling For Leaves stamp set (coming 5 Sept) in Blueberry Bushel and Granny Apple Green. Then I embossed the panel in the Tufted Dynamic TIEF and matted it on Granny Apple Green.
I used a piece of the new Chicken Wire Elements and snipped the corners off for a little more “shape”, then I adhered it to the card front – with the creamy white side up (it’s Silver metallic on the other side) – using Liquid Glue.

I laid down a short length of Granny Apple Green 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon with a little Liquid Glue for the next layer.
With the leaf die from the new Detailed Leaves Thinlits (coming on 5 Sept), I cut a Granny Apple Green leaf. This die cuts a leaves-of-three shape (no – it’s not poison!), so I snipped one leaf off and then adhered them to the card front – leaving space for my final leaf element.
I cut a detailed leaf in Granny Apple Green and a solid leaf in Blueberry Bushel and adhered them together with Liquid Glue.

I added some Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the leaf and used them to wind loops of Silver Metallic Thread, then popped it onto the card front.
My sentiment, also from Falling For Leaves, is stamped on a strip of Vellum in Blueberry Bushel. Then I snipped some banner ends and edged it with my Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Write Marker. A Glue Dot under the stamped sentiment adhered the banner to the leaf.

With two lengths of Silver Metallic Thread and one of Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine, I tied a little bow and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue – and that was it for the card front!
On the inside, I added a second sentiment from the Falling For Leaves set in Blueberry Bushel to a Whisper White panel. Then I surrounded it with some Granny Apple Green leaf elements.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green mats and then into my Blueberry Bushel card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Falling For Leaves leaves in Blueberry Bushel and Granny Apple Green on the front…

….and I stamped the largest leaf image in Granny Apple Green on the back (the Stamparatus works great for ensuring the image crosses the edge of the flap perfectly!) and colored it a touch with my Blueberry Bushel Stampin’ Write Marker.

Et Voila! Although I can’t wait to use this Falling For Leaves bundle in Fall colors, I love how it turned out in Granny Apple Green and Blueberry Bushel (two of my very favorite new colors!), don’t you? I hope you like!
