Stampin’ Up! Merry Musical Christmas Happiness!

Happy Monday, y’all!  And – since SU! is giving EVERYone FREE SHIPPING TODAY – it really IS a Happy Monday!

You read it right – and they mean free shipping on ANY and EVERY order!  So – click here and head over to my Online Store to get saving!  Oh – and today’s the last day of my TRIPLE Peppermint Rewards Points – so… pretty darned perfect timing, huh?? 🙂

So – if you were able to join me last night on my Facebook Live video, thank you so much for spending part of your Sunday with me!  If not, and you’d like to watch – here’s the YouTube replay! Fair Warning – there were technical difficulties with my internet last night and this version is after dealing with that.  There’s some heavy, disgusted signing at the start!  Drive on…it gets better, I promise!! 😉

I sort of indulged myself with this card, y’all!  I went to a favorite standby – the retiring Christmas Happiness stamp set and Merry Music DSP – to make today’s Christmas Card.  Take a look-see:

The layout is courtesy of this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge:

I started with a piece of striped Cherry Cobbler paper from the Be Merry DSP and adhered it to the front of a Basic Black card base with Liquid Glue.

My Merry Music DSP art piece is stamped a few times with some Garden Green pine boughs from the Christmas Happiness stamp set.  I stamped them a couple times full strength and once without re-inking.  Then I added a couple of pine cones – the outline image was stamped in Early Espresso and the fill-in image in Soft Suede.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Basic Black mat and then popped it over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To make the sentiment, I inked the words separately in Cherry Cobbler – and stamped them in a straight line (the sentiment image has them stacked) – on a strip of Whisper White card stock.  I snipped a banner in one end and then edged the banner with my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker.  I used Liquid Glue and a single Mini Stampin’ Dimensional (under the left end) to adhere it to the card front.

I added a few Cherry Cobbler Enamel Shapes and a Linen Thread Billie Moan bow and the card front was done!

On the inside, I repeated the Be Merry DSP to cover the inside of the card base.  Then I stamped a second Christmas Happiness sentiment in Cherry Cobbler on a Whisper White panel.  Over that, I stamped a pine bough in stamped-off-once Garden Green and added a Cherry Cobbler Enamel Shape.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Basic Black mat and into the card base, and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a Garden Green Christmas Happiness pine bough and an Early Espresso/Soft Suede pine cone on the front…

…and more of the Be Merry DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Christmas Happiness pine boughs and Merry Music DSP – a classically perfectly Christmas card!!  Hope you like – and are making sure this beautiful pair is in your stash before it’s gone forever!

Finn Fan Fix

On Saturday, we left early in the morning – well, “early” is a bit of an exxageration.  We left at 7am – after debating the wisdom of driving out in The Big Snow Event of 2017.  But we ended up deciding to give it a shot and we headed out to go up to NC to check on our property up there and get a couple of things done.

This is how it looked as we left…

Y’all.  It is NOT supposed to look like that in Atlanta.  Seriously.

We stopped to top off the fuel tank – just in case…

While Wayne took care of that, I took a picture of the Cracker Barrel…

…and the Man relaxed in comfort in the back of the truck.

He had his bed and a blankie.  And his breakfast in a bowl right in front of him.  You can see his ears pulled back – he’s listening to his Dad clanking around with the fuel pump.

We had a great weekend – the snow continued much of the way but the roads were clear.  Finny had a good time – although I think some of the fun of riding was replaced by boredom!

I’ve got some really fun pictures to show you in the next few days!

Stampin’ Up! Some Make-and-Take 2018 Occasions Sneak Peeks

Good mornin’, y’all!  It’s Sunday and I’m on my way home!!  Or will be soon, depending on where you’re reading this!  Here’s what it looked like out my hotel window yesterday once I’d made it to SLC.

A pretty vast change from the day before…but look how pretty the sun is shining thru the clouds!  I will miss the high desert weather, there’s no doubt!

So – make note of this, y’all!  I’m sorry to disappoint, but there’s no way I can get home today, unpack and have everything ready to do a FB Live Video this evening.  I mean, I’m good, but…that’d just be biting off more than I can chew. 🙁  So…we’ll reconvene next Sunday night!

I figured I’d share a couple of the make-and-takes that we did at OnStage – they’ll give you another taste of what’s coming in the 2018 Occasions Catalog.

The first goody is from the Petal Passion Suite – using the Petal Passion stamp set…

We stamped the little bird in Calypso Coral on a Whisper White Circle then popped it over some of the Petal Passion DSP – that we’d added a little Calypso Coral color to with a Blender Pen.  Check out the new Whisper White 1/4″ Organza Ribbon underneath!

Our next make-and-take used the Bubble Over stamp set and bundled Bottles & Bubbles Framelits.

Check out the DSP…that’s from the Sale-A-Bration flyer – and will be available FREE with a $50 purchase.  I love that the SAB goodies – so many of them! – coordinate with sets in the Occasions Catalog.

We decorated one of the new Silver Mini Gable Boxes – which is part of the Sweet Soiree Suite!  This is a cake-decorator’s dream suite – and perfect for wedding, engagement, or birthday celebrations.  It includes – wait for it! – new Embossing Paste in Shimmery White and Silver!  With a new set of Sweet Soiree Decorative Masks to help you “decorate” your card cakes!

Now – I didn’t finish my make-and-take all the way, cuz I need to get it home.  But…here’s what it WILL look like!  I love these little treat/gift holders!

It’s embellished with Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP and gorgeous new Berry Burst 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon (it’s edged in Silver!). And, with the advent of Dark Pink, Silver and White Sweet Soiree Ready Shreddie (think Easter basket grass – but not green!) to put inside to cradle and cushion your treats…you’re going to want bunches of these!

At our last “station” we used the new Tutti Frutti Suite to make a couple of adorable little tags.  We stamped and punched some fruit – using the Fruit Basket stamp set and bundled Itty Bitty Fruit Punch Pack…

…added a little paper from the Tutti Frutti DSP Stack (this is a 6″x6″ pack)…

…and made these!

Seriously cute set, y’all!

Okay – that’s enough to whet yer appetite for this wonderful new catalog, yes?

I’ll be back tomorrow.  Cleaner (from Finn-Lickings) and ready to rock and roll!  And – guess what?  Got another pretty sneak peek for you…

Stampin’ Up! Not-So-Ugly Christmas Sweaters!

Happy Saturday, y’all!  With any luck I’m toting my suitcases to the car and getting ready to check out and head to the hotel in SLC in preparation for my flight tomorrow morning!  I took two boxes to the post office yesterday to mail home to myself – they were a combined weight of 37 pounds!  And I’m still holding my breath that my two suitcases won’t exceed the weight limit!  Yikes!

You guys all know how much I’m looking forward to the Aussie-mob scene when I get home! A wake up and a flight is all that’s left to get done! 😉

My card today uses the so fun little Christmas Sweater stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.  Only thing is – I thought Christmas Sweaters were supposed to be ugly??  The sweaters in this set really aren’t.  Especially this one.  Take a look-see:

I used a couple of designs from the Be Merry DSP – the first one, matted on Cherry Cobbler – forms the card front.  Then I matted a smaller piece and adhered it with Fast Fuse.

Over that smaller piece, I used some Liquid Glue to adhere a silver Foil Snowflake.

For the art, I stamped the Santa Christmas Sweaters image in Cherry Cobbler on a piece of Whisper White card stock and matted it on Cherry Cobbler.  Using my Blender Pens to pick up the color from the lids of my ink pad, I colored the background of the sweater in Garden Green.  His hat is colored the same way in Cherry Cobbler.  For his face, I used the Ivory Stampin’ Blend!  How realistic does that look?!?  I added some Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blend (the darker one) to his nose, and then used the Light Pool Party Blend to color his spectacles.

I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to stamp the first part of the Christmas Sweaters sentiment in Garden Green on the bottom of the panel.  Then, with my Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker, I added some ellipses (you know… dot dot dot) after the sentiment and popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a Clear Faceted Gem and a holly sprig Stitched Felt Embellishment (with a Glue Dot) and the card front was done!  Hint:  the berries in the Stitched Felt holly are Real Red.  So…I used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to color them a little and then popped some Cherry Cobbler heart Enamel shapes on the top of them!

On the inside, I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig again to add the rest of the sentiment (including three more ellipses at the beginning) in Garden Green to a Whisper White panel.  Over that, I stamped the sweater again in Cherry Cobbler.  I inked the stamp and stamped it off three times before stamping the panel! 🙂

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat and into my Garden Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another full strength – and fully colored! – Christmas Sweater on the front (don’t forget to slide the plastic sheet from the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig into the envelope before you color with Stampin’ Blends!!)…

..and some more Be Merry DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is a fun set of stamps, I think, especially as we head into Christmas!  And I really love the Be Merry DSP (from the Annual Catalog) – Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green is my fave Christmas-y color combination!  Hope you like!

Stampin’ Up! Warm Fuzzy Smitten Mittens

Well, hey, y’all!  It’s Saturday and I’m at work!  Bleh.

We were hearing the weather might go down today, so…no telling what we’ll accomplish.  Only time – and the weatherman knows.

Okay – the weatherman doesn’t have any more clue than I do, let’s just face it! 😉

But – in light of the fact that they were talking “wintry mix” today – I thought I’d make a card with some warm and fuzzy mittens taking center stage.  So – I pulled out my brand new Smitten Mitten stamp set and the matching Many Mittens Framelits and put one together.  Take a look-see:

I was – sort of loosely – inspired by the sketch challenge over at CAS(E) This Sketch.

I started with a piece of oh-so-appropriate mitten-covered DSP from the Be Merry DSP pack and Fast Fuse’d it onto a Garden Green mat.  Then I cut a smaller piece (this is actually the design on the back of the first paper!) and adhered it with Liquid Glue.  Around the seam, I wrapped a piece of Cherry Cobbler 1/4″ Double-Stitched Ribbon, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

Using the little snowflake stamp set in the Smitten Mitten stamp set, I inked it with Versamark and stamped it on a piece of scrap Whisper White card stock.  Then I sprinkled it with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  Once it had cooled, I outlined the image with my Fine-Tip Glue Pen and then sprinkled the glue with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter.

Once again, I waited for it to dry completely and then cut it with the matching die in the Many Mittens Framelits set.  While I had the die out, I cut a Silver Foil snowflake as well.  I adhered that one to the card front with Liquid Glue and popped the glittery snowflake on with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

For the mittens, I inked up the sentiment mitten from Smitten Mittens in Cherry Cobbler ink and stamped it on Whisper White.  Then I cut it with its Many Mittens Framelits die.

I cut the detailed mitten from the Cherry Cobbler Be Merry DSP pattern and another solid mitten from Whisper White and adhered them together with Liquid Glue.

I used a Glue Dot on the back of each mitten to adhere a short length of Silver Mini Tinsel Trim to each one and then popped them both on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I tied a small bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  To finish off, I added a few silver heart Metallic Enamel Shapes to the top of the card front and a silver round Metallic Enamel Shape to the snowflake – and the card was done!

On the inside, I stamped the little hearts image in Cherry Cobbler across the bottom of a Whisper White panel.  Then I added the snowflake – heat embossed in Silver.  A second sentiment from the Smitten Mittens stamp set, in Cherry Cobbler, topped it all off.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Garden Green mat and into my Cherry Cobbler card base (turns out that when you’re sitting a stone’s throw from the SU! Home Office – Second Day UPS is very fast!! ) popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Smitten Mittens hearts in Cherry Cobbler and some more Silver heat embossed snowflakes on the front…

…and a little more Be Merry DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Smitten Mittens and the Many Mittens Framelits.  What a cute bundle, heh?  Ever since I got to play with it at our last Amy’s Inkin’ Krew team meeting, I’d been anxiously awaiting its arrival!  And I’m so glad to finally have it in hand.  Hope you like!

And – not for nuthin’ – this cute Be Merry DSP (from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog) is one of the fun papers you can get in the DSP Sale!  Check the deets down below!

Finn-Fan Fix  (you’ll have to settle for re-runs until I get back home to take fresh photos!!)

Today (well – yesterday) I got to see a rare treat.  We’d heard these guys were hanging around the office area – there’s lots and lots of bunnies for their dining pleasure.

Momma….

And one of her two kittens.

I sent the pics to Wayne.  His reponse?

“We don’t need any more cats”!

Guess he knows me pretty well, huh? 😉
