Stampin’ Up! Love You Still Thank You

Good Friday morning, y’all! I am gladder than glad that it’s the end of this week. It’s been a week amongst weeks and …well. I hope you had a better week than I did – and are looking forward to a great couple of days off!

My card for today took a little inspiration from a card sample in the 2018 Occasions catalog. It’s a sample for the Love You Still stamp set on page 21! I added just a few other elements and came up with…take a look-see:

My color scheme is from this week’s Color Throwdown challenge.

I started with a panel of Crumb Cake card stock and embossed it twice in the new Petal Pair TIEF (it’s a narrow folder, so need to run it twice to get the whole panel embossed!), then Fast Fuse’d it to a Basic Black mat for the card front.

Next is a piece of Color Theory DSP, also matted on Basic Black. I stamped the sentiment from Love You Still in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Then I Fast Fuse’d it to the card front.

On a scrap piece of Crumb Cake, I stamped the flower-strewn frame image twice in Tuxedo Black. The first time, I inked the entire stamp – with the exception of the little grass at the bottom of each frame. The second time, I inked only the flowers.

Then I fussy cut the frame – not a very “close” fussy cut – just a casual outline. I also cut out the center – not as hard as it might appear, I promise! To add just a little “finish”, I edged (inside, too!) the whole frame with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. 🙂

I colored the flowers with my So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker and the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend, then I popped the frame over the sentiment panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I decorated the frame with a Corrugated Elements heart and a heart from the Hearts & Stars Elements – adhering them with Liquid Glue. I popped a single heart-shaped So Saffron Subtles Enamel Shape on, as well.

On the opposite corner, I adhered a Linen Thread Billie Moan bow with a Glue Dot and a Very Vanilla Solid Baker’s Twine double-stranded regular bow with a second Glue Dot. And – cuz I’m a bling-girl! – I added some little Pearl Basic Jewels to the middle of the roses. And that was it for the card front!

For the inner liner, I stamped the small flower from Love You Still in Crumb Cake all over a Crumb Cake panel and Fast Fuse’d it to a Basic Black mat. Then I matted a small piece of Very Vanilla card stock on Basic Black and Fast Fuse’d that over the panel.

I Fast Fuse’d the whole thing into a So Saffron card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a few more Crumb Cake Love You Still flowers on the front…

…and I embossed the envelope flap in the Petal Pair TIEF!

Stampin’ Up! Stamps-N-Lingers 2018 Sale-a-Bration Kick-off Ordering Special with True Gentleman!

Well, y’all! It’s finally here! SALE-A-BRATION has arrived – finally!! Sale-A-Bration is awesome for lots of reasons! Oh – and, just to bump-up-the-awesome…how’s about Double Peppermint Points?!? We’ll run that for a week – for orders over $50! Which will, of course, also get you a Sale-A-Bration goody! And…I’ll even do Double Peppermints on my Special Bundles. All the deets are down below!

But – for a second, take a look at my card for today – no longer a “sneak peek” – the sneaking is over! I made a great “guy” card using the wonderful new True Gentleman suite of goodies. Including the amazingly gorgeous True Gentleman DSP. Take a look-see:

The layout for the pattern-filled card came from the December Viva La Verve sketch challenge.

Much of this card is made by simply Fast Fuse-ing DSP to Crushed Curry card stock – so pretty easy peasy!

I adhered some True Gentleman DSP (isn’t that blue plaid gorgeous?!?!) to Crushed Curry for the card front. The next layer is a strip of Crumb Cake with Crumb Cake bow-ties from the Truly Tailored stamp set. I stamped the image a few times without re-inking, and repeated that several times. I matted it on Crushed Curry and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I wrapped a length of the Night of Navy 3/8″ Corduroy Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back. For the next layer, I added a little more True Gentleman DSP matted on Crushed Curry and adhered with Liquid Glue.

I hemmed and hawed for a bit on what to do for the circle element – and finally decided on some Wood Textures DSP. Both circles are cut with the Circles Layering Framelits – adhered together with Liquid Glue and then adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Liquid Glue.

I made the sentiment by coloring parts of the image from Truly Tailored with my Tranquil Tide and Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Markers and stamping it on Very Vanilla. Then I punched it out with the matching Tailored Tag Punch and popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Remember the Bow Builder Punch? Page 207 in the Annual Catalog, in case you’d forgotten!

I thought it would be perfectly perfect for this card, so I pulled it out and created a tidy and tailored and – dare I say…Classy!?! – bow tie with yet another pattern of paper in the True Gentleman DSP. I used a short length of Night of Navy 3/8″ Corduroy Ribbon to wrap around the middle of the bow.

I stuck the little bow on with Liquid Glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional and the card front was done!

On the inside, I inked up a second sentiment from Truly Tailored with my Tranquil Tide and Night of Navy Markers and, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, stamped it in the middle of a Very Vanilla panel. Then I colored the little bow tie – same two Markers – and stamped it under the sentiment.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Crushed Curry mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got two more bow ties – colored with the Tranquil Tide and Night of Navy Markers – on the front…

…and I added some more of the plaid True Gentleman DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila! I love this Suite, y’all! The paper in particular just hits all the right notes for me – and the sentiments and small images in Truly Tailored are really going to be perfect for the “gentleman” in your life! I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

For most of my childhood, we had a Basset Hound.

A Basset Hound, let there be no doubt, can look pretty danged pitiful.

It’s the eyes. They use them like a boss.

I didn’t think I had to worry about Puppy-Pity-Parties with an Aussie.

I was so wrong.

I give you…THE Boss.

This was two days ago – when it was only down to 30. So pretty darned hot.

He refused to come in. No matter how many times I invited/cajoled/enticed/bribed/begged/half-heartedly demanded…Nope.

Now, before you go call Animal Control to report Animal Abuse (two days in a row…) take a look-see:

Thirty is okay. At thirty degrees- the “suit up” actually works. Mostly. So I went out and we played keep away for a while.

Then we went for a walk.

With our stick.

Just walkin’ with my Mom. And my stick!

Pity to Party in less than a heartbeat! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Lovely Wishes 2018 Occasions Sneak Peek

Hey, y’all! It’s Monday – and I’m home! So – I did almost miss my flight yesterday – I had 830am in my head. So I rolled up to the gate at 630am. And then got the message from the Delta app saying flight 2155 was loading. I thought it was weird that they were telling me about a different flight than the one I was on….

Turns out it wasn’t! So – had about 2 minutes and loaded up! It was most excellent really! 🙂

Now – one of the prettiest new sets in the 2018 Occasions Catalog is called Lovely Wishes.

We watched Billie Moan do a wonderful demonstration using this stamp set at OnStage.

I decided to use it today to make a pretty little card – with a little inspiration from a sample in the 2018 Occasions catalog. Take a look-see:

I started with a Tranquil Tide card base – cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored/folded at 5 1/2″. Across the front – on the bottom left and top right corners, I stamped the leaf-filler image several times in Tranquil Tide ink. Then I embossed the front of the card in the Layered Leaves Dynamic TIEF.

I matted a piece of Painted Autumn DSP on some Lemon Lime Twist and adhered it with Fast Fuse at a slight angle directly on the card front.

For the art and sentiment, I stamped the two curved leaves image in Tranquil Tide, making an oval with the images. Then I used the leaf fill image and stamped it – off center – in Lemon Lime Twist.

I used Daffodil Delight to stamp the small flower filler images; then I added the sentiment in Tranquil Tide.

I matted the panel on Lemon Lime Twist and popped it over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a few Pearl Basic Jewels and wrapped a length of Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine around the card base, tying it off with a bow.

On the inside, I stamped another Lovely Wishes sentiment in Tranquil Tide on a Whisper White panel. Then I added the smaller floral image in Tranquil Tide (outline and leaves) and Daffodil Delight (flower).

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Lemon Lime Twist mat and into the card base, and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another of the small floral images from Lovely Wishes on the front…

…and some more Painted Autumn DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! What a lovely stamp set this is, y’all! I think it’s going to be a heavy favorite for folks when the 2018 Occasions Catalog goes live. Hope you like! 🙂

Finn-Fan-Fix

Hey, y’all! Well – made it home safely and Finn met me at the airport. Well – Wayne drove him. Which seemed like the right thing to do! 🙂 He got out of the van on the leash and we said our first hello’s while Wayne loaded suitcases. No pics of that meeting – had a pretty solid lap-full! Let’s just say there wasn’t a lot of makeup left on! I did get a couple of fun shots on the way home, though…

Once we got home, he had a little lunch and then…crashed. Homecoming is exhausting for a guy!

But, he had to change it up a little so he could keep an eye on me…

Good to be home, y’all! 🙂

Stampin’ Up! 2018 Occasions Catalog Sneak Peek!

Well – are you ready to see some pictures of the new goodies coming in January!? I’m betting you are!

With the launch of this tool, we’re trying something different: testing a new reservation system. It acts like a true preorder: you reserve your spot and we guarantee shipment as soon as the product arrives in our warehouse. Customers will place reservations and receive their product at the same time. This system will allow us to get the product to market as soon as possible while avoiding backorders and efficiently managing inventory.

The global launch will feature three reservation windows. For each window, please note the following:
