Stampin’ Up! CAS Monochromatic Textured Notes & Text Thank You with Video

Good morning!  Did you remember to set your clocks forward? I always try to do that when I go to bed – cuz when I wake up at 5:30 and think I have plenty of time to have that cup of coffee – watch something recorded on tv – and generally wake up before I have to get on the treadmill…I am VERY bummed to discover that it’s actually 6:30 – and I have to get it going in just a half-hour.  So – I like my brain to think all is as it should be.  Even if my BODY knows my brain didn’t get enough sleep!! 🤦‍♀️

My card today goes back to two of my very favorite new Online Exclusives – the Textured Notes bundle and the Expressions of Text stamp set.  I added a little bitty bit of Woven Textures DSP to make a fun monochromatic thank you card.  Take a look-see:

The layout was inspired by the Try A Sketch on Tuesday challenge.

I started with several of the images from the Elements of Text stamp set and stamped them around the right side of a Basic White cardstock panel.  I used only Gray Granite ink – mostly stamped-off-once to fade it a bit, but a couple of the images I did full strength.

You can see that I favored the right side of the card pretty heavily.

When I had it to my liking, I embossed the panel in the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered three narrow strips of Woven Textures DSP to the left side of the panel.  Note: I cut the strips to 5 1/4″ – and then aligned all the tops with the top of the card front.  Then, I trimmed the excess from the bottom with my Paper Snips.

I matted the panel on Gray Granite using a little Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Textured Notes leaf in Gray Granite ink.  Then I used the third-from-smallest Textured Notes rectangle die to cut it out.

Using the next smallest Textured Notes die I cut out the middle.  Then I used the NEXT smallest to cut out of the middle again.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the largest remaining piece – then Stampin’ Dimensionals for the middle piece – and double-stacked Dimensionals for the final (smallest) rectangle.

I tied a simple bow from a piece of Gray Granite Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue.

On another piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Textured Notes sentiment in Gray Granite ink and cut it out with the smallest Textured Notes die.

I adhered the sentiment over the bow with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Note – you can add dimensionals under the end of the sentiment if you like – you’ll need a three-stack! 🙂

I added some white Neutral Matte Dots and the card front was done.

For the inside, on a Basic White panel, I stamped the large Textured Notes leaf in Gray Granite and then a second time in stamped-off-once Gray Granite.  Then I added some of the Elements of Text images in stamped-off-once Gray Granite.  I added a few of the white Neutral Matte Dots, too.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of my Thick Basic White card base, adhered the card front on with Liquid Glue and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Textured Notes leaves and Elements of Text images on the front…

…and more of the Woven Textures DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Well – as you may have guessed – I dearly love the Textured Notes stamp set – and the bundled die are spectacular! – and the Elements of Text stamp set.  They’re so very much in my wheelhouse!  Add some Woven Textures DSP – and a little Exposed Brick 3D Embossing – and….boom!  I made it as a thank you card – but…it would also be a perfect sympathy card with a different sentiment, wouldn’t it?!

CARDSTOCK PRICE CHANGES COMING SOON

Stampin’ Up! shared this with us yesterday so I wanted to pass it along!

In light of steadily increasing production costs, we’ve made a few updates to our cardstock offerings.

WHY THE CHANGE?
Over the years, Stampin’ Up! has worked diligently to manage rising costs while balancing high-quality standards and remaining competitive in the market. The costs for raw materials and production have continued to climb, and only a select few mills around the world are qualified to produce our heavyweight, dyed-through cardstock, ensuring it meets our color and quality standards.

WHAT’S CHANGING?

  • 8-1/2″ x 11″ cardstock:
    • All single-color cardstock packages will now contain 24 sheets (including Basic White and Very Vanilla).
    • Assortments will contain 20 sheets.
    • Prices will be $14 for both single-color and assortment packs.
    • 8-1/2″ x 11″ Thick Basic Cardstock will be discontinued, Thick Basic White Cardstock will be available in 12″ x 12″ packs beginning with the new Annual Catalog in early May.
  • 12″ x 12″ cardstock:
    • Our heavyweight, dyed-through cardstock and Basic White Thick Cardstock packages will contain 24 sheets.
    • 12″ x 12″ dyed cardstock will be $22.
    • 12″ x 12″ Basic White Thick Cardstock will be $26
    • We’re also expanding our 12″ x 12″ offerings with Two-Tone cardstock available in single-color packages in all colors.
    • We will no longer offer 12″ x 12″ dyed cardstock in assortments but will continue to provide 12″ x 12″ Two-Tone assortments that coordinate with our Designer Series Paper & Sticker Sheets.
  • Other Product Updates:
    • Pricing and configuration for our 12″ x 12″ Two-Tone cardstocks and White Willow 12″ x 12″ Cardstock remain unchanged.
    • In addition to the changes mentioned above, you will notice a handful of other price increases, which are typical in a new catalog.

So stock up on those cardstock packs now ahead of the price increases!  You can find the card stock in the online store here

Finn Fan Fix

I found him in here – like this – the other day.  I’d just gotten done blow drying my hair.

Guess he figured he’d get a jump on it.

Thing is – Wayne wasn’t going with me so…no need to do the whole kennel thing.

He DOES look pretty pitiful, though, doesn’t he?!
