Good morning and happy new-week, y’all! First full week of March and T-1 one day for the release of the March Kits AND the go-live of the March Online Exclusives. Yeah! I can hardly wait for you to get your hands on the new goodies – they are SO wunnermus!
My card today will be the last “sneak peek” for a while – this time it’s another look at the Fancy Borders dies (online exclusive coming tomorrow). And I paired it with the Beautiful Butterflies bundle and a little Friends of the Ocean DSP – both from the Jan-Apr 2025 Mini Catalog – to make a clean and simple birthday card. Take a look-see:
The layout is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge!
And the colors are from the Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge.
I did a quick video on how to make this cool card, which is posted on Instagram. If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!
I started by using the leaf die from the new Fancy Borders die set to cut three times from a Basic White panel – it cuts out the negative. Tip: do the middle die cut first – and then the top and the bottom.
I stamped the Beautiful Butterflies sentiment in Summer Splash on the panel and then adhered it to a piece of Lemon Lime Twist Pastel Ombre Glimmer Specialty Paper with Stampin’ Dimensionals to make the card front.
Using the small butterfly die from Beautiful Butterflies, I cut out five of them from a piece of Calypso Coral paper in the Friends of the Ocean DSP. I cut out five small butterfly bodies from Summer Splash cardstock and adhered them to the butterflies with Liquid Glue.
I lightly curled the wings (using my fingers) and adhered them with Liquid Glue.
A few – okay seven! – of the Summer Splash gems from the Sunny Days Iridescent Dots finished off the card front.
On the inside, I stamped a second Beautiful Butterflies sentiment in Summer Splash on a Basic White panel. And I stamped a butterfly a few times in Calypso Coral.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Summer Splash card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got a couple of Calypso Coral butterflies on the front…
…and more of the Friends of the Ocean DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Isn’t that die fun? Just one of the cool borders in the Fancy Borders die set – and I think you’re going to want to add it to your toolchest – so stick it in your cart tomorrow, okay? And – don’t forget the Beautiful Butterflies bundle – the dies and stamp set work well alone – OR with the bundled Hybrid Embossing Folder!
I hope you like!
