Stampin’ Up! Frosted Forest & Birch Wood Birthday Card with Video Tutorial

Happy Sunday, y’all!  Hope your weekend is going well! 🙂

I’ve got a pretty birthday card for you today – which you just might find to be perfect for the men in your life!  It uses the beauteous Online Exclusive Frosted Forest stamp set and bundled dies atop some Country Woods DSP.  I pulled out the Spotlight on Nature dies and…set it ALL atop a Birch Wood 3D embossed panel.  Take a look-see:

I started by stamping the sentiment from Frosted Forest down in the front corner of my Basic Beige card base in Misty Moonlight ink.

Using the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder – new in the Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog – I embossed a piece of Basic Beige cardstock.

I cut the panel down to 4″ wide by 4 1/4″ tall and adhered it above the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut out a piece of Misty Moonlight paper from the Country Woods DSP using the largest fluted-edge circle in the Spotlight On Nature die set.

I cut the circle into three strips – the top and middle strip are 1 1/4″ wide – and the final (bottom) one is 1 3/8″ (you can’t tell that little difference!).

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the three strips to the card front.

I used the die in the Frosted Forest die set to cut out a Basic White tree-line.  Using a 2 7/8″ x 4″ piece of cardstock, I aligned the die with the top of the tallest tree almost touching the top edge and the left-side of that tree almost touching the left edge.

After I ran it thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine – there was a teensy little bit of the cardstock that didn’t trim (see the circle in the photo above) – so I just snipped it with my Paper Snips.

I adhered it to the card front – with the bottom edge of the die cut even with the bottom of the circle die cut – using Liquid Glue and some tiny pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals (on either end).

I die cut three Basic White birds – using the dies in the set – and adhered them with Liquid Glue.  Then I added some Basic Beige Earth Tones Shimmer Gems by the sentiment and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the bird image from Frosted Forest three times in Misty Moonlight ink on a Basic White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Basic Beige card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Frosted Forest birds in Misty Moonlight on the front…

…and more Country Woods DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh my – I love how perfectly the Frosted Forest stamp set and dies worked for this card, don’t you?!  And – there IS a set of wonderful masks that are part of the bundle which adds even MORE option for creating!  Remember – this is an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE set – so you won’t see it in a catalog.  The Country Woods DSP, Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder and Spotlight on Nature Dies ARE catalog goodies so…be sure to look for them in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog (the DSP and dies) and the Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog (embossing folder)!
