Stampin’ Up! Shepherd’s Care Sneak Peek Christmas Card with Video

Good morning and happy SEPTEMBER!  And – in case you’re wondering – we’re now 115 days from Christmas.

You’re welcome! 😉

So – it’s not at ALL silly that today’s card is a Christmas card – and one that I think you’re going to want to make.  It uses the Shepherd’s Care stamp set and Season of Elegance Specialty DSP – both available in just 3 days in the new Sep – Dec 2024 Mini Catalog!  Take a look-see:

The layout was inspired by the sketch at the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge – I just tipped it up on end.

I started by stamping the dots image from the Shepherd’s Care stamp set in Basic Beige across the top of a piece of the Season of Elegance Specialty DSP.  I matted the panel on Pecan Pie cardstock for the card front.

I matted two strips of the DSP – with the foil-embossed side up – on Pecan Pie cardstock and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic Beige cardstock, I stamped the large shepherd image in Pecan Pie ink and cut it out with the third-from-largest Deckled Rectangle die.  I adhered the panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the Shepherd’s Care sentiment in Pecan Pie ink on a 5/8″ wide strip of Basic Beige cardstock and used Paper Snips to cut an angle on both ends.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the sentiment strip to a 3/4″ wide piece of Pecan Pie cardstock.  Then I used my Paper Snips to cut the ends off at the same angle as the sentiment – thus creating a perfect mat!

I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Liquid Glue (left end) and Stampin’ Dimensionals (right end).

On a piece of Basic Beige cardstock, I stamped the star image from Shepherd’s Care in Versamark ink and sprinkled it with gold Embossing Powder.  I heat set the powder with the Heat Tool and – when it was cool – used my Paper Snips to cut out the star.

I used Liquid Glue – and a couple of teensy pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals – to adhere the star to the card front.

Then, I added a champagne Drusy Adhesive-backed Embellishment (coming on 4 Sept) to the middle of the star and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Shepherd’s Care sentiment in Pecan Pie on a piece of Basic Beige cardstock.  Next to it, I stamped the star in Basic Beige – and added a clear Drusy Adhesive-backed Embellishment to the middle of the star.  Then I stamped the dots image across the top in Basic Beige ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Basic Beige card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Shepherd’s Care star in Basic Beige on the front…

…and more of the Season of Elegance Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the Shepherd’s Care stamp set and know that it’s going to be a favorite for making simple – yet gorgeous! – Christmas cards.  For this year and beyond!  Add in the pretty Season of Elegance Specialty DSP – with the foil-embossing on one side and a matte, “oil painted”, look on the other – is ready add elegance to your projects!
