Stampin’ Up! Golden Greetings Christmas Easel Card with Video Tutorial

Good morning!  Hope your weekend is going well.  We got a little rain Friday night – just enough to make it very pleasant when I went out to feed on Saturday morning.  By 1 on Saturday, though, Mother Nature was in full “PSYCH!” mode and it was a stinkin’ sauna.  Again.  C’mon “ber” months! 🙂

I went for another Christmas card today – this time an easel fun fold and showcasing the Online Exclusive Golden Greenery and Greetings of the Season bundles AND the coordinating papers from the Suite.  Take a look-see:

And the card front design was inspired by the sketch over at the Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge.

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and used my Paper Trimmer to score on the long side at 5 1/2″ and again at 8 1/4″.  I folded both score lines as valleys.  Or mountains – depending on your perspective.  Bottom line – fold them both the same way! 😎

I matted some of the Season of Green & Gold Specialty DSP on Cherry Cobbler cardstock and used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the middle small panel on the card base.  Note: the design I selected has an “up” and a “down”.  Since the panel is covered up when the card is closed, I opted to put it on so that the “up” direction was correct when open.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere a panel of Season of Green & Gold DSP on a Cherry Cobbler mat for the card front.

Using the long banner die in the Greetings of the Season die set, I cut two pieces of patterned Season of Green & Gold DSP.  I trimmed the pointed end of both banners – one at about 3 7/8″ and the second at about 3 5/8″.  Then I adhered both of them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut a next-to-largest Stylish Shapes circle from the white-embossed paper in the Graceful Greenery Vellum Specialty DSP and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

Using the Golden Greenery Dies, I cut a large Mossy Meadow bough and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I cut out two Graceful Greenery Vellum printed pine boughs – using the dies in the Golden Greenery set – and a small pine bough from Old Olive cardstock.  I adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I made a loop-y bow with some beautiful – NEW! – Cherry Cobbler & Gold 1/4″ Satin Ribbon (available 4 Sept in the new mini catalog) – and tied a bit of Linen Thread around it to hold it in the shape of a bow.  I adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, I stamped the Greetings of the Season sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink.  I cut it out with the second-from-largest Stylish Shapes circle die and adhered it with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some Pecan Pie gems from the Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Adhesive-backed Dots and the card front was done.

Using Liquid Glue on the remaining small panel on the card base, I adhered the lower half of the card front to the card base.  That made the easel!

To create the easel stop, I cut out two large Golden Greenery pine boughs from Mossy Meadow cardstock and one from the Season of Green & Gold Specialty DSP.  I adhered them in a stack using Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered it in place on the inside panel of the card base using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.  🙂

For the inside, I stamped a Greetings of the Season sentiment in Cherry Cobbler on a Basic White panel.  I stamped the Golden Greenery detailed pine bough in full-strength Old Olive and the second (fill) image in stamped-off-once Old Olive.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the card, added a couple of Pecan Pie gems from the Pecan Pie & Clear Ribboned Adhesive-backed Dots and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Golden Greenery pine bough in full-strength and stamped-off-once Old Olive on the front…

…and more Golden Greenery DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! Super easy – and super pretty! This Christmas card from the Golden Greenery and Greetings of the Season bundles – with Season of Green & Gold and Graceful Greenery Vellum Specialty DSPs  – is simply gorgeous and makes for a keepsake card that your recipients will display all season long!

CHECKOUT THIS AWESOME FUNDRAISER!

The Grand Chapter of Iowa Order of the Eastern Star is holding a fundraiser for Retrieving Freedom – a organization that trains Service dogs for Veterans and Autistic children!

You can lend your support to this great organization – AND maybe win this beautiful quilt – designed by my friend and teammate Julie Johnston…

…by purchasing raffle tickets!

Here’s the deets:

–  Tickets are $1 each and you can purchase as many as you wish

–  The quilt measures about 61″ x 73″

– The quilt was “commissioned” by the Grand Chapter of Iowa Order of the Eastern Star

–  Julie designed the quilt using symbols and colors chosen by the Worthy Grand Matron, Mary Reicks, and Worthy Grand Patron Joe Ried

–  One of the symbols is songbirds, so Julie took photos of 14 Iowa songbirds, printed them on fabric, and wove them into the design. There are 14 different bird photos – one in each square of the quilt!
–  The other major symbol is bicycles and fabric incorporating them is part of the field of the quilt

If you’d like to purchase tickets to support this great cause – AND maybe win that quilt! – please send Julie an e-mail at: jg441157j5x@natel.net

Finn Fan Fix

Finn is an eternal optimist.

He saw a split in an avocado seed several weeks ago and begged me – really, it was quite pitiful! – to start it.

So – I did.  And nothing happened.

Just about the time I was going to pitch it – I spied a sprout deep inside the seed.

I spared it and a week or so ago….

…and now!

Apparently he’s got quite the green paw!

As the one in the partnership who can read, I Googled the next step.  Once it hits 7″ – I have to CUT IT OFF!  Down to 3″.  😳  And wait – AGAIN! – for 3 or more leaves.

THEN I can put it in dirt.

We’ll see what happens.  🤷‍♀️
