Stampin’ Up! Unbounded Flowers Bendy Fun Fold Sympathy Card with Video for Creative Creases #85

Good morning, y’all – happy weekend-eve!  Hope you’ve got something fun planned!  I’ll be taking part in a fun SU! Demonstrator event called Creativity Now tomorrow afternoon.  I’ll get to play with a new Suite of products coming in the Sept – Dec 2024 Mini catalog.  So…you’ll get a sneaky peek of that suite sometime real soon!

My card today, though, showcases the gorgeous Unbounded Beauty Suite – with the pretty Unbounded Beauty DSP (featuring the 2024-2026 In Colors!) and the Unbounded Love and Flowers of Beauty Bundles (BOTH of which are ON SALE thru the end of June).  AND – it’s a fun fold!!  Take a look-see:

This is called a Bendy Fun Fold.  Maybe.  At least…that’s what I saw on the internet! 😉

You’ll see this card – along with the other Design Team members’ cards –  at this week’s Creative Creases Challenge! We’re all about the Fun Folds and I hope you’ll come and join us!

The colors I used were perfect for the Sunday Stamps color challenge.

This is a card I first saw on my teammate Karen Ksenzakovic’s blog and I also saw one from Kim Quade that helped!

NOTE:  just so you know – this is a pretty easy fold but…WRITTEN instructions are not as helpful/easy as SHOWING you how to do it.  So…be sure to hit the video that I did, okay??

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Berry Burst cardstock, to which I adhered a piece of Unbounded Beauty DSP using Stampin’ Seal +.

I scored the whole panel at 2 3/4″.

Since it’s easier – I did the back panels next.  On two pieces of Basic White cardstock, I stamped several sentiments from Unbounded Love in Shy Shamrock and Pretty in Pink ink.  On one, I stamped the two-step flower image from Flowers of Beauty in Pretty in Pink ink – the outline in full-strength and the fill in stamped off once ink.

I adhered them to the back of the card base with Liquid Glue and added a large Peach Pie 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gem in the center of the flower.

Now to the front!

I scored the 2″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Berry Burst cardstock at 1/2″ from both ends on the long side.  Using Stampin’ Seal +, I adhered another piece of the Unbounded Beauty DSP, centering it between the two score lines.  Then I scored the strip again at the 2 1/4″ mark on the long side.

I folded the strip at each score line as mountain folds.  With a little Liquid Glue on the 1/2″ tabs, I lined up the center score line with the center score line of the card base and adhered it.  See?  I TOLD you to watch the video! 🤷‍♀️

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Unbounded Love sentiment in Shy Shamrock ink and cut it out with the scalloped oval die from the bundled die set.

I folded the two 1/2″ x 1″ pieces of Berry Burst cardstock at the 1/2″ mark and used Liquid Glue to adhere them to the back of the sentiment oval – towards the bottom of the die cut (the whole thing is upside down in the photo – sorry!).

I set the 1 1/4″ x 6 1/4″ strip of DSP across the bottom of the card base and, using that as a guide, adhered the sentiment oval to the pop-up mechanism on the card front using Liquid Glue.  I made sure the hinge “straddled” the center fold of the mechanism and that the sentiment was centered.

Again – watch the video.  Just sayin’.

Finally, I folded the long strip of DSP at the 1/2″ marks on both ends, added Liquid Glue and used those tabs to secure the strip to the card base – aligning the strip with the DSP edges and the bottom of the card base.

I used both detailed foliage dies in the Flowers of Beauty die set to cut out Shy Shamrock and Basic White leaves.

I snipped them down so they’d fit “inside” the boundaries of the card base, and then adhered them to the pop-up-mechanism with Liquid Glue.  I made sure that the end of the leaves were hidden by the sentiment oval and not adhered to it in any way.

I used the two long strip-dies in the Flowers of Beauty die set to cut out five larger Pretty in Pink and five smaller Basic White flowers.  I adhered the white flowers to the Pretty in Pink flowers and then added three of them to the foliage with Liquid Glue.

I used the two detailed leaves dies from Unbounded Love to cut out Shy Shamrock leaves and adhered them – one to the bendy band and one to the sentiment oval – using Liquid Glue.  I added a small flower to each leaf.

I added small Peach Pie 2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems to each of the small flower centers and…the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Flowers of Beauty flower on the front…

…and more of the Unbounded Beauty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila! The Unbounded Love stamp set and bundled dies is a pretty awesome bundle – and provides SO many sentiments and labels and leaves!  Foliage from Flowers of Beauty – and a pretty stamped flower were great for this sympathy card.  And – oh yeah!  They’re both on sale right now!
