Happy Sunday, y’all! Hope your weekend has been good so far! We’re in Rovinj, Croatia today – our last stop before our last stop tomorrow! It has flown by!
My card today is a sympathy card that I sent to a friend of mine after his mother died. I think it was a pretty good choice – not too froofy for a man – but..enough to be “right” as a sympathy card!! It featured the new Country Flowers bundle – and some beautiful Country Lace DSP! Take a look-see:
This layout is another “free” one from the 22 sketches on page 22 of the new 2024-2025 Annual Catalog!
I started by adhering a piece of the new Country Lace DSP to the front of my Smoky Slate card base using Liquid Glue.
Then I took two 1 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ pieces of the Country Lace DSP – and cut them into two pieces at the 1 1/2″ line on the long side. That gave me two 1 1/2″ x 1 1/2″ pieces and two 1 1/2″ x 2 3/4″ pieces.
I adhered the four pieces of DSP to a Mossy Meadow mat – “eyeballing” the equal reveal all the way around – using Liquid Glue. Then I adhered the panel to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Country Flowers tea pot image in Misty Moonlight ink and colored it with Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. Then I cut it out with the coordinating Country Flowers die.
I used the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes circle die to cut out a Smoky Slate circle from the Country Lace DSP and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
Using the leaves dies in the Country Flowers set, I cut out one large leaf die cut from Mossy Meadow – and then used the two small leaves dies to cut Old Olive leaves. This one has two identical dies – so…I used them both TWICE to get a plethora of Old Olive leaves!
I adhered the die cut tea pot to the Stylish Shapes circle with Liquid Glue – then added all the die cut leaves with Liquid Glue – saving TWO Old Olive leaves for later.
On that same design of Country Lace DSP, I stamped the Country Flowers sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink and cut it out with a Stylish Shapes banner die.
I used Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the card front.
I tied a Linen Thread bow and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue – slipping it under the end of the banner.
Using the little flower dies in the Country Flowers set, I cut two Basic White flowers and adhered them together with Liquid Glue. Then I adhered them – and the two remaining Old Olive leaves – to the end of the sentiment with Liquid Glue.
I added a Lemon Lolly Rainbow Adhesive-backed Dot to the middle of the flower, added a couple of small Brushed Brass Butterflies – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I used another piece of Country Lace DSP for the inner liner, and stamped it with the Country Flowers sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink. In each corner, I added the little geometric image in Misty Moonlight. Then I added a final Brushed Brass Butterfly!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Smoky Slate card base and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Country Flowers image on the front…
…and a little more Country Lace DSP on the envelope flap!
Et Voila! Oh my – tell me this isn’t one of your favorite new Suites in the catalog!? I love how the Country Flowers stamp set and dies work so beautifully with the Country Lace DSP! They’re just beautiful – and perfect as a sympathy card, I think! 🙂
I hope you like!

Such a pretty card Mary! Love the colors and the layout is perfect! 🙂
Thanks, Amy! 🙂
Mary, this is a lovely sympathy card. I will be making this – as soon as my order arrives. I always know my catalog will arrive pretty quickly (in a most beauteous envelope), but my orders always seem to take for-ev-er! Maybe if I didn’t check two or three times a day to check the picking status and monitor each day after it’s been shipped…?
Thanks again for such a beautiful card example!
LOL – a watched order never ships! Or…you know – something like that! Thanks, Angie! 🙂
The four pieces of DSP on the Mossy Meadow mat is a stunning background.
Thanks so much, Kylie! 🙂
