Stampin’ Up! Angles Filled with Happiness Thank You Card

Good morning and Happy Happy Hawwwwmp Day!  Hope your week is going well!  A bunch of you have started to stock up on the retiring colors and papers et al – and taking advantage of my Double Peppermint Ordering special!  Yeah!  You’ve got until the 25th to gather up those extra peppermints!! 🙂

My card today goes back to the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog with the Filled With Happiness stamp set (retiring soon!) and the coordinating Modern Oval Punch.  Some Metal Plate 3D Embossing sets the plate for a few fun, angled strips of Just Kiddin’ DSP (ALSO retiring soon).  Take a look-see:

The cool layout was inspired by the Sketch Saturday challenge this week.

I started by embossing a panel of Melon Mambo cardstock in the Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder.

I cut some strips of Just Kiddin’ DSP and adhered them to the embossed panel with Liquid Glue.

Look – before you ask…these are pretty random strips.  I did some VERY vague measuring before I adhered them, okay?  It’s RANDOM!  Cut some angled strips and adhere them! 😉

I trimmed the excess with my Paper Trimmer and then adhered the panel to a Night of Navy mat for the card front.

Okay – okay – here’s how MINE turned out.  If YOURS doesn’t have these exact measurements…it’s still going to look awesome!!

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Filled with Happiness image in Night of Navy and cut it out with the Modern Oval Punch.

Then I adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped JUST the large “Just a Note” portion of the sentiment in Melon Mambo onto a strip of Basic White cardstock.

Then I snipped banners into both ends and edged the sentiment with the Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment strip onto the punched image.

Using my Dark Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blend, I colored a length of white Baker’s Twine.  I tied a simple bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot – tucking it under the corner of the sentiment.

I added some Lemon Lolly Adhesive-backed Solid Gems (I am SOOO sad that these gems are retiring! 😔) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Filled with Happiness sentiment in Night of Navy on a panel of Basic White cardstock.  In the corner, I adhered a scrap corner of the Just Kiddin’ DSP with some Liquid Glue! How big is that piece of DSP?  It’s…however big YOU want it to be on your card! 😎

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Night of Navy mat and into my Lemon Lolly card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got just the TOP of the Filled with Happiness sentiment (it’s a photopolymer set – so it’s easy peasy to ink just this portion!) in Night of Navy on the front…

…and more of the Just Kiddin’ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How fun is that star-strewn Just Kiddin’ DSP in angled strips on a Metal Plate embossed panel?!  This is such cute – and pretty! – paper, y’all!  I am also a real fan of the Filled with Happiness stamp set, aren’t you?  These two items are retiring – but…the Modern Oval Punch AND the Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder will be back in the annual catalog!  Whoo-hoo!

Such a cool card! Fun way to use up those extra paper scraps. It looks like Finn won the fight no matter what. 🙂

Thank you, Amy – and yes, he frequently wins! 🙂

  2. Susan K

Cute card—that took some strong math skills to figure it out (which is not my strength!) Good take on that unusual sketch. TFS. Deep discussions have the same effect on me as on Finn! Not even going to discuss what that might mean! 🤣

    • stampsnlingers

LOL – I didn’t really do any math – just cut up some DSP and stuck it on!! Thanks so much, Susan! 🙂

Very pretty and a fabulous take on the sketch!
