Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop! Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Celebrate Spring! Be sure to check out everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!
For me – Spring starts when the garden/seed catalogs start to arrive. But…when I start to see my Lavender begin to blush purple and blue…THEN we know things are going to warm up! So, it was an easy decision to celebrate Spring with the Painted Lavender bundle and stunning Perennial Lavender DSP! Since Painted Lavender is an image-only set, I called on the coordinating Perennial Postage stamp set for my sentiments. Take a look-see:
The layout – with all those spots to show off this DSP! – is from the Sunday Stamps sketch challenge this week!
I made a quick video on how to make this one – and posted it Instgram this morning. You can see it on YouTube right here!
I started by adhering several pieces of Perennial Lavender DSP to Starry Sky mats. I adhered the smaller, Highland Heather design, to the card front with Liquid Glue and then adhered the vertical panel over the top with more Glue.
On a piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped a bevy of elements from the Painted Lavender stamp set.
– Two spiky flowers in Highland Heather ink
– Two stems in Shaded Spruce ink
– Three butterflies in Daffodil Delight. Note: the stamp stamps two butterflies at once. I wanted three big ones so…I stamped it three times.
Using the matching dies in the bundled Painted Lavender die set, I cut out all the pieces.
I also used a die from the set to cut out a Lost Lagoon lavender sprig from a piece of Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the floral die cuts to the vertical DSP panel.
I tied a simple bow with two lengths of vanilla Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a little bit of Liquid Glue.
While that dried, I stamped a sentiment from Perennial Postage in Highland Heather on a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock and matted it on Starry Sky.
I adhered the sentiment over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, I added the three large butterflies using Liquid Glue – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second Perennial Postage sentiment in Highland Heather ink on a Very Vanilla panel. Over the top, I stamped the lavender sprig from Painted Lavender in stamped-off-once Lost Lagoon. Note: as I look at this now, I wish I’d used the three little butterflies that I got for free when I cut out the large ones. If I were you and you were me…I’d add them flitting around the sentiment. Use little dabs of Liquid Glue! 😎🤷♀️
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Starry Sky mat and into my Highland Heather card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Painted Lavender sprig in full strength Lost Lagoon on the front…
…and more of the beautimous Perennial Lavender DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Oh my goodness – this Perennial Lavender PAPER! It is so absolutely gorgeous – there’s not a “meh” design in the pack – and most of them are knock-yer-socks-off stunning! Add in the coordinating Painted Lavender Bundle – and a sentiment from the Perennial Postage set and…boom! A wunnermus card that anyone would love to receive!
I hope you like!

Thanks much, Karen! 🙂
Just beautiful! I love your card design and those bright yellow butterflies are the perfect touch!
They look like the ones that come to my Zinnias in the summer – I love them! Thanks so much, Carol! 🙂

Thanks, Tara! 🙂
Mary~ Once again, you’ve nailed it; ANOTHER IN A LONG LINE OF STUNNERS! It’s been a while since sending you kudos, so this is waaay overdue. These Blog Hops find me hoping on over to your cards first…always. Your entries are right up my alley because of the colors, the layers, the compositions on and on. A couple weeks ago your Notes of Nature card (my favorite bundle from SU) was especially swoon-worthy. [I’m not sure if that was on the Blog Hop or if it was something that you offered on your own] Also, reading about Finn and seeing photos always make me smile. Thank you for all that you offer, you’re really quite generous. Cheers, Sue Showalter
Wow, Sue – this is just…the nicest comment ever! Thank you so much – you have no idea how reading that made me feel! 🙂
A beauty Mary! Love that DSP. 💖😊
Thanks, Shirley! 🙂
No Finn on Blog Hop days. Sigh. Good thing your card is a show stopper!
I love seeing the sketch and then your vision as it helps me so much in my own card making.
I know – but even stars need a day off every once in a while! Thanks so much, Nel – glad that you liked it! 🙂
Oh so pretty – love all the layers!
Thanks so much, TL! 🙂
Wonderful take on the sketch over at Sunday Stamps. I love your sentiment on this. The designer paper is perfect for it – and that bow! wonderful job.
Thank you so much, Laurie – I appreciate it! 🙂
Gorgeous!! I am loving that stamp set and designer paper…fantastic!! Love your floral take on our sketch challenge over at Sunday Stamps!! You rocked our “raise the flags” sketch with your trio of yellow butterflies for “flags”!!

Thank you so much, Deb! Took a little liberty with it – I’m glad you liked it! 🙂
