Good morning and Happy Sunday! Hope your weekend is going well. And for all of you in the frigid north – hope you’re staying inside and WARM! As usually happens after a day or two of weather – it’s bright and sunny and BRISK here today!
My card today features my favorite fun fold – the Book Fold – and showcases the new Adoring Hearts bundle and some Most Adorned Specialty DSP (which is,..FREE… right now!). Take a look-see:
I was playing along with this week’s Global Design Project‘s theme challenge!
I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Real Red cardstock that, using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool, I scored on the long side at 5 1/2″ and again at 6 3/4″.
I folded the 5 1/2” score line as a “mountain” – so….you know, ”regular”! – and at the 6 3/4” score in the opposite direction. Topographically speaking, that would be a “valley” fold!
Using Liquid Glue between the 5 1/2” and 6 3/4” score lines, I adhered the front of the card base to the back – just in that 1 1/4” area. This made the “book” or “side” fold.
And from there – it’s all decorating! Easy and also peasy!
I matted some Flirty Flamingo paper from the Most Adored Specialty DSP on a piece of Gold Foil – one for the main square side of the card front and a second piece for the small “binder” side.

Using the second-from-largest square Stylish Shapes die, I cut out four squares from a Real Red piece of the Most Adored DSP.
I adhered them in a grid to the card front, using Liquid Glue.
I cut out a Basic White square using the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes die (so – one size UP from the DSP squares).
On the square, I stamped the pretty heart wreath from the Adoring Hearts stamp set in Flirty Flamingo ink. Over it, I stamped the sentiment in Real Red. Then I adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
From one of the pretty designs in the Most Adored DSP, I fussy cut a rose image.
Using Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends – I colored the image.
There are some nice little leaf dies in the bundled die set and I used them to cut out two Gold Foil and two Vellum leaves.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the leaves to the sentiment square. Then I added the fussy cut rose over the top with Liquid Glue and a couple Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I popped the card front onto the larger side of the card card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I wrapped a length of gold Simply Elegant trim twice around the smaller matted panel and secured it in the back with Glue Dots. Then I popped it onto the small side-panel of the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I tied a bow around the trim and – the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a Basic White square with the Adoring Hearts image in stamped-off-once Flirty Flamingo. I didn’t add a sentiment – figuring it would be great for…?? I can add a sentiment when I need it! 🙂
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Gold Foil mat and into the card base and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Adoring Hearts heart wreath in Flirty Flamingo on the front…
…and more Most Adored Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Is it ANY wonder that a Book-fold is one of my all time faves? It’s super easy but…super cool, too! And – you get to play with a square card-front design without making an actual SQUARE card! And this one – decorated in Valentine colors from the FREE Most Adored Specialty DSP – is gorgoues! The pops of gold really add a little sumpin’-sumpin’ to the pretty heart-wreath and sentiment from the Adoring Hearts bundle!

On a slightly different note – y’all know how much I love my Mealthy (aka electric pressure cooker) and that I use it a lot. And you’ve heard me mention recipes from Tidbits-Marci as my go-to for never-fail-always-yummy meal ideas, right?
Well – not too long ago, Marci and her sister did a little shift and re-named their business InstaFresh Meals. They’re goal is to make getting dinner on the table easier – but…it’s still healthy AND it tastes great. And – to help with that – they’re emphasizing freezer-ready meals for the Instant Pot.
I am a believer! I gave frozen – ready-to-cook! – meals, cookbooks and freezer tubs to the kids for Christmas.
