Stampin’ Up! Poetic Thoughtful Expressions Sympathy Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I am SO excited to not have to keep adding – “and you can get this on 4 Jan” – to all my blogs where I’m using a new goodie.  Cuz…you can get it ALL today!  Whoo-hoo!

Perhaps the Thoughtful Expressions bundle and coordinating Poetic Expressions DSP will be on your first-day-gotta-have it list!  If it isn’t – perhaps today’s card will put it there. I thought it was pretty perfect for making a sympathy card – so…that’s what I did.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s the sketch we all worked with today.

I started by adhering a piece of gorgeous Poetic Expressions DSP on a Boho Blue mat for the card front.  Then I matted a second design – a much smaller piece – on Boho Blue and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the two middle dies in the Thoughtful Expressions die set – I cut out a Boho Blue cardstock frame.  Tip: you can easily run them thru the die cutting machine at the same time!

I adhered the frame to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped the Thoughtful Expressions sentiment in Moody Mauve.  Tip:  I placed the smaller frame die onto the cardstock and used it as a guide to stamp the sentiment.  You want the orientation of the sentiment label to MATCH the orientation of the frame.

I cut the sentiment out with the die – and then adhered it “inside” the frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the dies in the Thoughtful Expressions set I cut out a lot of foliage:

– Two large and one small leaf from Lost Lagoon cardstock.

– Two large flowers from Bubble Bath cardstock.

– Three small leaves from Mossy Meadow cardstock.

– Three small flowers from Moody Mauve cardstock.

Using a combination of Liquid Glue – or Stampin’ Dimensionals (it’s pretty apparent as you adhere the pieces which adhesive makes sense – and you can get a good idea in the short video that I linked below) – I adhered the die cuts to the card front.

I added some Iridescent Foil Gems to the small Moody Mauve flowers – and Brushed Brass Butterflies, too, and the card front was done! 🙂

For the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Thoughtful Expressions in Moody Mauve on a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I added the small floral image in the corner in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored the image with my Light Moody Mauve, Dark Bubble Bath and Light Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends.  Then I added some more Brushed Brass Butterflies.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Boho Blue mat and into my Thick Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Thoughtful Expressions floral on the front…

…and a little more Poetic Expressions DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Isn’t this Thoughtful Expressions bundle so so pretty!?  I love the flowers and leaves – and all the pretty labels/frames!! – that you can die cut – and the sentiments are lovely and sweet (and in beautiful fonts)! And the color palette in Poetic Expressions DSP is absolutely one of my faves!  Oh – and you can get it all RIGHT NOW!  Whoo-hooo!

I hope you like!
