Good morning and Happy Friday! What’s on your agenda this weekend? I’ll be headed to a Baby Shower tomorrow – to celebrate the planned arrival of the newest young Martin!! Today is “make deserts to take” day – so…you know where I’ll be! So excited to see everyone! 🙂
My card today celebrates the arrival – it is SO here! – of Autumn! And the Rustic Crate bundle does a BANG UP job with that! I added a little Tartan Foil Specialty DSP – and a fun way to add some interest to the card front. Take a look-see:
This fun layout was inspired by the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge this week.
And the theme is from The Paper Players challenge!
You’ll notice that the sketch I was working with has six vertical lines. To add those, I placed a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Copper Clay cardstock into my Simply Scored Scoring Tool with the short side at the top. Using the large end of the stylus – and a relatively heavy hand – I added score lines at 3/8″, 5/8″ and 3/4″ then again at 3 1/2″, 3 5/8″ and 3 7/8″.
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the scored panel to the front of my Copper Clay card base – with the embossed side up. It’s hard to see in the pictures – but they’re there! 🙂
I matted two pieces of Lost Lagoon Tartan Foil Specialty DSP on Crushed Curry and then adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.
Using the third-largest Deckled Rectangle die I cut out a Basic White rectangle. Using Blending Brushes, I added Crushed Curry ink in the center of the die cut – then added Copper Clay in the very middle to create a “glow”.
I stamped the Rustic Crate sentiment in Copper Clay near the bottom of the panel – and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I used the dies in Rustic Crate to cut out a Pecan Pie crate and a Pecan Pie handle. I used Liquid Glue to adhere the LEFT side of the handle to the back of the LEFT side of the crate.
On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Rustic Crate image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I colored the image with Stampin’ Blends:
– Pumpkins – Pumpkin Pie – I colored one with the Light Blend and the other with the Dark Blend
– Flowers – Light Copper Clay
– Corn cobs and flower middles – Dark Daffodil Delight (this LOOKS like Crushed Curry!)
– Corn Husks – Light Old Olive
– Leaves – Dark Old Olive
I used the die in the Rustic Crate Die set to cut out the image – then adhered it to the “inside” of the crate with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
There’s a couple of little dies in the set that cut out “hardware” – and I used them to cut some from Early Espresso cardstock. They’re adhered to the front and side of the crate with Liquid Glue.
Then I adhered the crate to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I added small Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed Dots to all the hardware – and a couple below the sentiment.
I tied a small bow from Black & White 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon, attached it to the crate handle with a Glue Dot – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped the Rustic Crate image in Tuxedo Black on a Basic White panel and colored it with the same Stampin’ Blends that I’d used on the front.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crushed Curry mat and into my Copper Clay card base and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Rustic Crate image on the front…
…and more of the Tartan Foil Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Oh – I love the images in the Rustic Crate stamp set – they really say FALL! And the die cut crate – complete with “hardware” – is just a perfect way to display the abundance of the season! Do not miss out on the Tartan Foil Specialty Paper – you get it in Lost Lagoon, Copper Clay and Pebbled Path – it’s an Online Exclusive!! 🙂
I hope you like!

Such a pretty fall card. Love the colors! Finn is always “helping” to clean things up…plates, chip bags, crumbs and dimensional covers. 😉
