Stampin’ Up! Forever Forest Little Dreamers Triple Cube Pop-Up Card with Video Tutorial

Good morning – happy Friday and happy WCMD-eve!  That’s right – tomorrow is OUR day!!  Whoo-hoo! I hope we’ll see you on our Inkin’ Krew FB Event – the deets and link are down below!

I’ve been seeing a cool fun fold popping up here and there – it’s actually CALLED a Triple Cube Pop-Up card – and had been wanting to try one.  Then last week, Lisa Ann Barnard did one for a new baby and…boom!  I NEED a baby card soon and so…here we go!

I made two versions – both with the Little Dreamers and Classic Letters stamp set.  The first is soft and pretty in Soft Sea Foam.  Take a look-see:

For the version 2 – the one I made on the video (link below) got a woodsy touch from A Walk in the Forest DSP,  and the Forever Forest and Beary Cute stamp sets.

Both cards are made the same – just decorated differently!  And – I made mine as gift card holders!! 🙂

To make the card base – consisting of two cubes and a tower – I started with an 8″ x 8 1/2″ piece of cardstock (Soft Sea Foam or Balmy Blue).

As the template shows, I scored along the long edge at 1/2″, 2 1/2″, 4 1/2″ and 6 1/2″.  Then I rotated the cardstock and – on the short side – cut a 2″ piece and then a second 2″ piece.  I ended up with two 2″ x 8 1/2″ pieces and one 4″ x 8 1/2″ piece.

I folded all the score lines in the same direction – burnishing them with a Bone Folder as I went along.  Using Tear & Tape Adhesive on the 1/2″  “tabs” on each piece – I folded the cardstock into the cubes and tower.  Seriously – check out the video – it’s a LOT easier to show it than write it! 🤷‍♀️

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the two cubes to the tower.

I made twelve little matted squares to decorate the various faces of the card.

Each square consists of a piece of DSP (Soft Sea Foam Subtles DSP or A Walk in the Forest) matted on Basic White cardstock.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the matted squares to the faces of the card bases.

To create the letters, I used the Classic Letters set – an online exclusive – to stamp four small Basic White squares in Lost Lagoon ink (for the Soft Sea Foam card) or Pretty Peacock (for the Walk in the Forest card).

I folded the card as shown above – and used Liquid Glue to adhere the letter squares in place. Note: DO fold the card up to add the letters – it really makes it easier to see where they need to go!

To make the insert, I adhered a piece of the coordinating DSP to the top of a Basic White panel.  For the Walk in the Forest card, I used the Forever Forest set to stamp a few Old Olive trees on the lower portion.

I used the Very Best Trio Punch to punch a ribbon slot in the top of the panel.  For the Soft Sea Foam card, I ran a piece of Lost Lagoon 1/4″ Bordered Ribbon thru and tied a Basic White Baker’s Twine bow around it.

For the second card – I colored a length of Black & White 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon with a Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend and tied it the same way.

I cut out a Basic White Scalloped Contours die cut and stamped the Little Dreamers sentiment – in Lost Lagoon or Pretty Peacock.

For the Soft Sea Foam card – I stamped the Little Dreamers cow in Lost Lagoon and colored him with my Light Soft Sea Foam, Lost Lagoon and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends.

For the second card, I stamped the Forever Forest trees in Old Olive.  On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the baby bear from the Beary Cute set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I colored him with my Light Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blend and fussy cut him with Paper Snips.  Then I adhered him to the die cut with Liquid Glue.

I adhered the die cuts to the bottom of the panels using Tear & Tape Adhesive on the sides and bottom.  Note: get the Tear & Tape as close to the edge as you can!

And – those made for perfect gift card enclosures!

My Basic White Medium Envelopes – got either the Little Dreamers cow or the Forever Forest trees on the front…

…and more of the DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is SUCH a fun fold and it’s cool that it can be displayed so nicely!  The added bonus of being a gift card holder is just….icing on the card!  I think it’s so fun to be able to personalize our cards, don’t you?  I love the basic card with the Classic Letters and sweet Little Dreamers – but…check out the baby shower invitation!

So – making the card with A Walk in the Forest DSP, some trees from Forever Forest and the adorable baby bear from Beary Cute was just…exactly right! 🙂

Such a cute card design! Perfect for a baby card…and I love both versions! Poor Finn…I’m sure that he’d been just as good as the pony so he definitely deserved a treat too. 😉
