Stampin’ Up! Tricks & Treats Sneak Peek BOO Halloween Card!

Good morning and happy Sunday!  I can’t believe that BackStage 2023 is over!  What a great four days!  I got to see some old friends – meet some new – have lunch with some customer friends – and spend some time hanging with Amy!  And – we heard some great speakers and have a few new challenges to try!  And – the Final Event was amazeballs…..so – I say – SUCCESS!  Great job, Stampin’ Up!

Have you heard that Halloween is coming?  Yup – it’s true!  Happens every year so…I assume it’s happening again this year.  And – Stampin’ Up! is bringing us some new goodies (on 6 Sept!) just for the spooky occasion!  The Tricks & Treats bundle – which I’ve used today! – is super cute.  You can even use it to make treat bags!  For today, though, I made a quick and easy card – bringing in some Them Bones DSP and more of those spooky glowy ghosts and bats!  Take a look-see:

The layout is from the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday‘s sketch challenge this week!

And I’m also playing along over at the Double Trouble Challenge! I have stripes and checks (that look like bats!) on my card.  I have a sentiment.  And I cross-posted with Try Stampin’ On Tuesday.  So…ALL the THINGS! 😎

I started with a couple different designs from the new Them Bones DSP – aren’t they fun?! – that I matted on Basic Black cardstock.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the two smaller matted rectangles to the striped Starry Sky card front.

Using the second-from-smallest Stylish Shapes circle die, I cut out a Distressed Gold Specialty Paper “moon” and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the haunted mansion from the new Tricks & Treats stamp set in Starry Sky ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock and cut it out with the coordinating die from the bundled Tricks & Treats dies.

I popped the mansion onto the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is an adorable die cut – this is in the Tricks & Treats set, too – cut from Basic White cardstock – and adhered with a little Liquid Glue and a tiny piece of Stampin’ Dimensional (under the “B”).

Because they’re too fun not to use – I added some glowy ghosts and bats from the Glow-in-the-Dark Bats & Ghosts (coming with the rest of these goodies in the new catalog –  just in time for Spook-o-ween!).

Y’all – I love these so much.  Check them out!

Those ghosts flying up make me think of the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney! 🙂

Oh – and that’s all I did for the card front!

On the inside, I stamped “EEK!” (from the Tricks & Treats set) a few times in Pumpkin Pie and the bats image a few times in Starry Sky ink on a Basic White panel.

I know.  Terrifying! 😂😂

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into the Pumpkin Pie card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got  “EEK!” and some bats on the front…gotta give the postman a little scare…

…and more of the Them Bones DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Y’all know Halloween isn’t really my jam – well,  I DO like the candy but…that’s about it! – but…the sets in the new Sept – Dec 2023 Mini are really fun!  The Tricks & Treats bundle is super cute – don’t miss the dies that’ll make fun little treat bags! – and Them Bones DSP is a perfect accompaniment.  And the Glow in the Dark embellishments…get outta here!! 🙂

Finn Fan Fix

Well – the last day was pretty great!  Did a few breakout sessions and then watched the keynote speaker discuss Social Media.  She and her husband had done one of the breakout sessions and nearly the entire populace of attendees was there.  They’re Greg & Sam Hind – they flew all the way from Australia for this event!

She was a lot of fun – and I learned some new things while I was laughing!

Then – Sara Douglass closed us out for this year’s event – not before we Fan-Girled her a little….

– and gave us a little sneak peek of our evening event. Stampin’ Up! had gotten us all tickets to the Cirque Du Soleil show called “The Beatles LOVE” at The Mirage resort!

It was an amazeballs show – the music was perfect – all Beatles hits – accompanied by incredible sets and wowzer feats of athletic prowess!

The Octopus! This was my fave set – the jellyfish costumes were too cool!

It’s hard to explain the complexity of what the performers did – in this case – it was roller skating and the things they were able to do – ON ROLLER SKATES! – was mind boggling!  This was the start of that scene – the roller skate ramps came right up from the under the stage!

The finale!

It was really great and I’m so grateful to have gotten the chance to go!!  Thanks, SU!
