Stampin’ Up! O Holy Divine Night Sneak Peek Fun Fold Christmas with Video Tutorial

Happy Sunday, y’all!  Hope the weekend has gone well for you. 🙂

Today, I yielded to the siren call of the gorgeous new O Holy Night Suite – which you can get your hands on on 6 Sept in the new mini catalog – YEAH!!) and made a Christmas card.  AND – it’s a very very cool 2-4-6-8 Fun Fold, too!  Between the Night Divine and Stars At Night bundles and the stunning O Holy Night DSP – this is for sure a card for someone very special.  Take a look-see:

This is 100% a fun fold, so…I’m playing along with the Creative Creases Anything Goes with a Fun Fold challenge!

So – this 2-4-6-8 fold is one I’ve seen around the internet for a minute, but…I took a look at Patty Bennet’s blog and video to get the gist.  Then…off I went!

This one starts with a 5 1/4″ x 12″ piece of the new O Holy Night DSP (coming to you on 6 Sep) – that I scored at…wait for it…2″, 4″, 6″ and 8″ on the long side. Then I folded it in an accordion fold.

To create the two short panels that give that cool front look – I used Liquid Glue to adhere the first two small panels to each other – and the second two small panels to each other.

Would it surprise you to know that it’s a lot easier to see if you watch the video?

Once that was done, I used Liquid Glue to adhere the whole thing to a Crumb Cake mat.

I cut two pieces of the O Holy Night DSP – one with buildings and one with sand dunes.

I matted the DSP with the buildings on Crumb Cake cardstock.

Using the dies from the Night Divine die set, I cut out a camel, the sleeping donkey and the sleeping lamb from Basic Black cardstock and adhered them with Liquid Glue.

On the second panel – the one with the dunes – I stamped a sentiment from Night Divine in Versamark and heat embossed it in white.  Then I adhered the panel to a Crumb Cake mat.

For the Nativity:

– I cut out one full Nativity (from Night Divine) from Basic Black and snipped the manger off with Paper Snips.

– Cut out two more – one from Distressed Gold Specialty Paper and one from the Blueberry Bushel color of the Holographic Trio Specialty Paper.

–  Using Paper Snips, I trimmed out Mary and Joseph and the manger from the Holographic die cut – and then used Liquid Glue to adhere them onto the Basic Black die cut.

– I cut out just the manger from the Distressed Gold die cut and adhered it in place with Liquid Glue.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the completed Nativity to the smaller panel.  I die cut a Basic White lamb and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I cut a small star using a die from the Stars at Night die set from Distressed Gold Specialty paper and adhered it with Liquid Glue. Then I added an Adhesive-backed Star Trinket.

I lined up the two small panels so they were staggered and used Liquid Glue to adhere the Nativity panel to the back of the card front.

Then I adhered the middle panel – with the camel – using Liquid Glue.

For the front, I used the seventh-from-smallest Deckled Circles die to cut out a Night of Navy piece of O Holy Night DSP.  On it, I stamped another sentiment from the Night Divine set in Versamark and sprinkled it with white Embossing Powder.  Then I heat set it with the Heat Tool.

When it was cool, I used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the front small panel – making sure it would “hide” the Nativity scene when the card is closed.

I created the large star using a few dies in the Stars at Night set and cutting from Gold Foil and Distressed Gold Papers.  Then I adhered them together with Liquid Glue, added an Adhesive-backed Star Trinket and then adhered it with Liquid Glue.

I cut three Basic White stars and adhered two of them to the front sentiment and the third to the middle panel using Liquid Glue.  I added a white Adhesive-backed Sparkle Sequin to each star and the fun fold was done.

So that there was a spot to write a greeting, I made a back panel.  I stamped a Stars at Night sentiment in Night of Navy on a Basic White panel.  Next to it, I stamped the stars image in Lemon Lolly ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Crumb Cake mat and then to the back of a Basic Black panel, used Liquid Glue to adhere the matted fun fold to the other side of the Basic Black panel and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Stars at Night stars in Lemon Lolly on the front…

…and more of the O Holy Night DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Oh my goodness, y’all!  The O Holy Night Suite is so amazingly gorgeous – I can hardly stand it!  With the Night Divine and Stars at Night bundles to get you going – the O Holy Night DSP is the perfect accompaniment!  I love how it turned out on this fun fun fold!!  I hope you’ll get this as soon as you can in September – and then maybe make a 2-4-6-8 Fun Fold for yourself! 🙂
