Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a sketch challenge (my fave!) to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
I decided that the edge die in the Darling Details die set was perfect for our sketch so I pulled it – and it’s bundled stamp set! – out and made my fave-of-all-time fun fold with a little Glorious Gingham DSP! Take a look-see:
Did you guess that it was going to be a Book Fold? 🙂
And here’s our sketch!
I also pulled some elements from the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge – I went down the left side (Layers – Ribbon/Twine – Patterned Paper)!
And – I like to play along at the Creative Creases Anything-Goes-With-A-Fun-Fold challenge when I make a fun fold. So… I did!
I started with a basic Book Fold card – scoring a 4 1/4” x 11” piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock at 5 1/2” and 6 3/4” on the long side.
I placed the edge die from the Darling Details die set at the short edge of the panel. I positioned the top of the curve right at 5/8″ from the end of the panel.
Using Liquid Glue between the 5 1/2” and 6 3/4” score lines, I adhered the front of the card base to the back – just in that 1 1/4” area. This made the “book” or “side” fold.
I matted a narrow strip of Berry Burst Glorious Gingham 6″ x 6″ DSP on Bubble Bath cardstock and adhered it to the small panel on the left side of the card with Liquid Glue.
I matted a piece of Basic White on Bubble Bath and adhered it on the larger side of the card front with Liquid Glue.
Then it was time to get busy with the Darling Details stamp set and bundled dies!
I cut out two Bubble Bath florals and three Lost Lagoon leaves.
On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the leaf image three times in stamped-off-once Lost Lagoon – and cut them out with their coordinating die.
I stamped the large flower outline and two smaller flower outlines in Berry Burst and then stamped their fill images in Bubble Bath ink. I cut them with their dies, too.
Using Liquid Glue – I adhered all but the largest flower to the card front. I added that final flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I tied a small bow with two lengths of white Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a little Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Darling Details sentiment in Lost Lagoon ink. Then I matted the sentiment on Bubble Bath and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added some Lemon Lolly Adhesive-backed Solid Gems and the card front was done!
For the inside, I first adhered a square of Berry Burst Glorious Gingham DSP on a Bubble Bath mat and adhered it to the inside of the card with Liquid Glue.
On a smaller panel of Basic White, I stamped the large Darling Details flower in Berry Burst and Bubble Bath.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the card and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the large Darling Details flower on the front…
…and more of the Glorious Gingham 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Is it any wonder that book-folds are my fave? They’re so versatile! And cool. And so easy! This one is so pretty with the lacy die cut edge from the Darling Details and the bouquet of flowers – with the Glorious Gingham 6″ x 6″ DSP just makes it perfect!
I hope you like!
