Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
I pulled out one of our older sets – the Season of Chic stamp set and it’s coordinating Chic Dies – to work with the new Inked Botanicals 6″ x 6″ DSP. And – a couple of embossing folders are in the mix, too! Take a look-see:
Oh – did I mention embossing?!?
Being a teacher’s pet and all, I used BOTH on this card! 😎
I picked this set partially due to the Just Us Girls Word Week challenge!
I started out by adhering a piece of Inked Botanicals 6″ x 6″ DSP on a Bubble Bath mat for the card front.
Next, I embossed a piece of Basic White cardstock in the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. Then I matted it on Bubbled Bath cardstock and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
Using the cool grid-texture die in the Chic Die set – I cut it out of a piece of the white Textured Shimmer Paper – then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
Then I did some stamping and die cutting:
– On a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock, I stamped the Season of Chic detailed leaf image in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with white Embossing Powder and, when it was cool, cut it out with the matching die from the Chic Die set
– On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the detailed Season of Chic flower image twice in Bubble Bath ink. I used the fill stamp in stamped-off-once Bubble Bath ink, then cut it out with the coordinating Chic die.
– On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the shell image twice in full-strength Balmy Blue and once in stamped-off-once Balmy Blue. Then I cut them out with the coordinating Chic die.
– I cut out two detailed leaves from a piece of Lost Lagoon Inked Botanicals DSP.
I ran the three die cut shells thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine in the splatters folder from the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folder set. I did that to add a little texture – and to break the fibers down a bit. Using a Bone Folder, I lightly curled the shells.
To adhere the elements – I used Liquid Glue to adhere all the leaves and the flower on the left side of the collage. The middle flower – and all the shells were adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals (to help them keep their curved, shell-y shape!).
On a strip of Misty Moonlight, I stamped the Season of Chic sentiment in Versamark, sprinkled it with white Embossing Powder and heat set it.
I snipped banners into both ends – and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added some Iridescent Pastel Gems in Balmy Blue and Gold and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second Season of Chic sentiment in Misty Moonlight on a Basic White panel. Over the top, I stamped the shell in stamped-off-once Balmy Blue ink.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Bubble Bath mat and into my Misty Moonlight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Season of Chic shell in Balmy Blue ink…
…and some more of the Inked Botanicals 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! It’s so easy to forget about some of our “oldies but goodies”, isn’t it? But – the Season of Chic set is one that you need to keep in mind – especially when paired with its coordinating Chic Dies. As the name implies – there are images and die cuts to cover multiple seasons – and reasons! 😉 Once again – I can’t say enough good things about the gorgeous Inked Botanicals 6″ x 6″ DSP – I love it so much!
I hope you like!
