Stampin’ Up! Grassy Grove & Gingham Thank You Card

Good morning and Happy Happy HAWWWWMP DAY!  Yep – it’s Wednesday and we’re cresting the hill of the week.  Soon – we’ll be headed into the weekend!  Whoo-hoo!

I’ve got a pretty little card for you today that was inspired by a card I saw in the catalog.  It features one of our beautiful older stamp sets – the Grassy Grove set – and its coordinating Grove Dies!  I added a little Glorious Gingham in wunnermus new Pecan Pie.  Take a look-see:

Many elements for the card were inspired by this week’s Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! I went down the left side and across the bottom! 🙂

I started by matting a piece of Pecan Pie Glorious Gingham 6″ x 6″ DSP on a piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock.

Then I adhered it to the front of my Pecan Pie card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a narrow panel of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the grasses image from the Grassy Grove set in Blueberry Bushel ink.  Tip:  I put the bottom of the stamped image about 3/4″ from the bottom of the white panel.

Using my Pecan Pie Stampin’ Write Marker, I added some faux stitches around the edge of the panel.  Then I adhered the panel to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the large tree die in the Grove Die set, I cut out a Shaded Spruce panel.  Tip:  the panel is 3 1/2″ “tall” and wide enough to cut the entire die.  The length isn’t as important as the height – cuz I cut off everything but the left side!  When positioning the die – I just made sure I had a nice border on the left side.  🙂

Using my Paper Trimmer and setting the left edge of the die cut panel at 2 1/2″ – I sliced off the right side of the die cut.  Then I adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut out a little Pecan Pie deer with the Grove die – and tucked him (her??) in with Liquid Glue.

Using Stampin’ Seal, I adhered a couple lengths of Natural 1/4″ Wavy Trim.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Grassy Grove sentiment in Pecan Pie and cut it out with a Stylish Shapes banner die.

I adhered the sentiment over the Wavy Trim with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals, added some Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the trees from the Grassy Grove set in Shaded Spruce on a Basic White panel. Then I added the grass in Blueberry Bushel – and a couple more of the Adhesive-backed Sparkle Gems.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Blueberry Bushel mat and into the Pecan Pie card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Grassy Grove trees and grasses on the front…

…and more of that gorgeous Glorious Gingham DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Oh – I’ve always loved this Grassy Grove stamp set – the images are so pretty (those trees and grasses!!).  And the Grove Dies – well.   How sweet is that little deer – and for her (him??) – to be nestled in the die cut trees is just perfect!  Do I really need to persuade you that Glorious Gingham is like… the BEST!?  No.  Didn’t think so!

Finn Fan Fix

As I’ve been keeping an eagle eye on the Finn-man this week – there’s one thing that is a big Red Flag.

Not eating?  Meh.  Maybe.

Sleeping a lot.  Uhm…nope.  THAT’S normal ops.

This.  It’s THIS!

At our dinner time.  Every.  Single.  Night.

When it did NOT happen last week – RED ALERT RED ALERT RED ALERT!

For Cady – the Haflinger pony – it’s not eating her breakfast or dinner.  If that happens – I just automatically call the vet.

I’m so happy that they’re BOTH doing their “every day, no matter what” things! 🙂
