Stampin’ Up! Horse & Sleigh Sneak Peek Double Z-Fold for the SU Demos Fun Fold Blog Hop

Good morning everyone and welcome to the Fun Folds Blog Hop for Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators!  We’ve got a talented line-up and…I think you’re going to like what you see!  This is a once-a-month hop and…all our cards will be fun folds!!  How cool is that?!?

We got a look-see this weekend at some projects using two new Online Exclusives…the Horse & Sleigh bundle and the WUNNERMUS One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ DSP and it spurred me to pull them out for today’s Double Z-Fold card!  Take a look-see:

This Double Z-fold is just exactly what it sounds like – this one just happens to be vertical versus horizontal!

I made two card bases from Early Espresso cardstock.

I scored the large 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″ on the long side – folding the first score line as a mountain and the second as a valley.

The small card base is 2 3/4″ x 10″, scored at 4 3/4″ and 7 1/2″ – folding the first score as a mountain and the second as a valley.

I decorated the three panels of the large card base by adhering some wood-grain paper from the new One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ DSP (available on 6 July!) on Petal Pink and then adhering all the panels to the card base with Liquid Glue.  Y’all – this paper is gorgeous!  “Scenes” on one side and geometric patterns on the other!

For the small card base, I matted the cute deer paper and a piece of wood grain paper from the pack on Real Red and adhered them to the large panel and the middle panel of the card base.  Tip: when you cut that paper with the little deer on it – cut it so that the deer is centered as the focal point!

On a small piece of Basic White, I stamped the sentiment from Horse & Sleigh in Real Red.  On each side, I stamped the bare tree image from the set twice – first in stamped-off-ONCE Crumb Cake and the second in stamped-off-TWICE Crumb Cake.  Tip – the second image should be SHORTER than the first -to give a sense of depth!

I matted the panel on Real Red and adhered it to the final small panel of the small card base with Liquid Glue.

I used my Crumb Cake and Pebbled Path Stampin’ Blends to color a piece of leaf-strewn Vellum Basics Specialty Paper.   I added a lot of color with the Blends – and let the colors swirl together.  Then I waited to be sure it was DRY!

When dry, I used the tree die from the Horse & Sleigh Die Set to cut out three trees from the colored velum.

Using Glue Dots, I adhered the trees to the panel with the deer – letting him peer out thru the branches.  This is how I spy my deer here – only…they’re not mulies, so…their ears aren’t quite as big! 🙂

On another piece of Basic White, I stamped the Horse & Sleigh “Season of Cheer” sentiment in Real Red.  Then I cut it out with the largest Stylish Shapes label die.

I adhered the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To adhere the small card to the large card, I folded both of them and set the small card in place – centering it on the large card.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the top panel of the small card to the top panel of the large card.  Caution: you only want glue on the TOP part of the small card panel!

Then I adhered the last panel (the one with the inside sentiment) – to the largest panel on the large card base.

I added a flurry of new Adhesive-backed Snowflakes (part of the new Online Exclusives coming on 6 July) and then, to the middle of each of them, I added a tiny drop of silver Metallics Enamel Effects.  Once the drops were dry – the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Horse & Sleigh bare trees – in Crumb Cake on both side of the envelope front…using the stamping off method again…

…and more of the One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So – two Z-fold cards adhered together.  That’s all this is!  It’s a great way to showcase the super pretty new One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ DSP and the coordinating Horse & Sleigh 6″ x 6″ DSP, don’t you think!?  I KNOW you’re going to want these new goodies when they’re available to you on 6 Jul! Unless…you want them right NOW – and then…just join the team and you can get them ASAPly – even as part of your Starter Kit!
