Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Daydream Easter Blessings with Video Tutorial

Hello hello!  Happy Palm Sunday, y’all!  One week until Easter. 🙂

My card today IS an Easter card – created with the Daffodil Daydream stamp set and coordinating Daffodil Dies!  As I look at the card – I realize that a LOT of things on it are…RETIRING – including one of my very favorite and MOST USED embellishments!  😩😩😩  Take a look-see:

I selected Easter for today’s card thanks to…well, the calendar!!…and the theme challenge over at the Global Design Project.

I started by using my Stamparatus (RETIRING!) to stamp the pretty border stamp from the Daffodil Daydream set.  I placed my Starry Sky card base – with a smaller piece of Starry Sky cardstock on top – and stamped the border in Starry Sky ink.  I used the Hinge Step to stamp it four times.

Y’all – if you watch the replay of my video last night, you’ll hear me say that Starry Sky and Orchid Oasis are retiring.  Which is ridiculous – they’re in the 2022-2024 In Color family – so…we get to play with them for another year.  Don’t despair!! 🙂

Anywho – with the stamping done, I adhered the smaller panel to an Orchid Oasis mat and then to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the Daffodil Dies – I cut out all the pieces and parts I needed to make the daffodil bouquet.  I cut leaves in Garden Green and Granny Apple Green, a couple of stems in Granny Apple Green, petals in Basic White, and the main flowers in Petal Pink cardstock.  And a little Basic White butterfly, too! 🙂

Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the detailed die cuts to their corresponding solid die cuts.  Note: the best way to see how to make these flowers is to watch the video.  Fair warning – I had a few brain blips at the start of the video so…you’ll get to see a lot of hinge-stepping!  LOL.  You can fast forward to about the 15:26 point – and then you can see how the flowers all go together! 🙂

Using Liquid Glue – I adhered the leaves, stems and flowers to the card front.

I made a double-loop Linen Thread bow – aka a Farrah Fawcett bow! – and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Orchid Oasis cardstock, I stamped the Daffodil Daydream sentiment in Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with white Embossing Powder and heat set it with the Heat Tool.

When the embossing powder had cooled I used the smallest wide Stitched Rectangle Die to cut it out.  Then I adhered it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered the die cut butterfly to the sentiment with a little Liquid Glue, added some Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels – THESE are retiring, too! 🙁 – and the card front was done.

On the inside, I used the Stamparatus again to stamp the Daffodil Daydream border image in Starry Sky at the bottom of a Basic White panel. Then I stamped the little butterfly in Starry Sky – and colored it with my Petal Pink Stampin’ Write Marker!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Orchid Oasis mat and then into the Starry Sky card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Daffodil Daydream butterfly in Starry Sky on the front…

…and on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  I love the gorgeous flowers that can be made with the Daffodil Dies – and they’re perfectly complemented by the images and sentiments (for Mother’s Day as well as Easter!) in the coordinating Daffodil Daydream stamp set.  I do hope that if you don’t have these sets – OR the Stitched Rectangles – OR the Stamparatus! – that you’ll snap them up before they’re gone!!

I hope you like!

  1. Beth K

Beautiful Easter Card! Would never have thought to use the blues/orchids for a background. And a great use of the border from the daffodil set – very clever! Will have to try that.

Thanks so much, Beth – glad that you like it! 🙂

  2. Such a pretty card! Love the colors and the layering is perfect! Poor Finn…he’s exhausted but still trying to maintain the perimeter. 😉
