Stampin’ Up! Rain or Shine Marigold Moments Thank You Card

Good morning, y’all!  I’m writing this while watching the Super Bowl (so – since I want to watch the game AND the commercials! – it’s taking longer than usual! 😂).  I’m rooting for KC – go big or go Mahomes! – so…hopefully I’ll be all happy when you read this!  I do have say that the Eagles are..sort of kicking Chief-hiney and taking names, right now!  Jalen Hurts is a hoss!  But it’s only half-time so there’s lots of game left!

The card I have for you today features the gorgeous Marigold Moments bundle and a little Rain or Shine DSP!  It’s super pretty and super quick to put together, too!  Take a look-see:

Stampin' Up! Rain or Shine Marigold Moments Thank You Card

The layout was inspired by the sketch at the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week!

I started by adhering some Rain or Shine DSP to a Flirty Flamingo mat for the card front.

Then I embossed a piece of Basic White cardstock in the Rainfall Embossing Folder and matted it on Flirty Flamingo cardstock.

I adhered the matted panel to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the single flower from Marigold Moments three times – it’s a two-step image, so…first I stamped the solid image in So Saffron and then added the detailed image in Flirty Flamingo.  Normally, you’d do the darker inked image first – but the So Saffron is just dark enough that you can do it either way! 🙂

I also stamped one of both leaves images in Old Olive.  Then I cut them all out with their matching dies in the bundled Marigold Moments die set.

I layered the leaves and flowers onto the card front with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals

– First  – larger leaf image – with Liquid Glue.

– Flower (on left) – with Liquid Glue.

– Flower (on right) – with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

– Smaller leaves – with Liquid Glue.

– Final flower – with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped a Marigold Moments sentiment in Flirty Flamingo ink.  Then I matted it on Flirty Flamingo and adhered it to the card front with some Liquid Glue and a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I added some Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the smaller leaf image in Old Olive on a piece of Basic White.  Then I added the Marigold Moments two step single flower in So Saffron and Flirty Flamingo.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Flirty Flamingo mat and into my So Saffron card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the small flower on the front…

…and more of the Rain or Shine DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the Marigold Moments stamp set almost as much as I love REAL marigolds!!  And the Rain or Shine DSP is so pretty – this one is especially cheerful and happy with its mix of Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody, don’t you think?!?

Finn Fan Fix

A few folks have asked me about the Sourdough Banana Muffins I was talking about last Thursday on my video.  So…

First batch – added Dark Chocolate chips and they’re amazing!

I sort of thought these would taste like the sourdough banana bread I’ve made.

They do not.  They’re much lighter textured – and a somewhat milder banana flavor.  🙂

I ended up with two batches – so for the second one, I also added some chopped pecans.  And put some Toffee bits on the top – you know, so I could tell which were which!

And here’s my attempt at food styling! 😂😂😂

If you’re interested in trying sourdough – I HIGHLY recommend Pantry Mama – she’s got TONS of experience and really shares that in her blog!

She does several posts about how to get a starter going – but…I actually bought a live starter from King Arthur’s Flour – that I used for a long time before I found her website.  Then I started using her instructions to get it built up and stronger!  The key:  WEIGH everything (versus using measuring cups) and be patient!!  🙂

And this is the muffin recipe!  I sprinkled Sparkling Sugar on the tops – it adds such a nice, sweet crunch! 🙂

Enjoy, y’all!

Beautiful flowers! And I love that DSP – made the perfect backdrop here! Glad you joined us at FMS!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks much, Linda – I appreciate you stopping by!! 🙂

Lovely card, Mary. Barry and I were very happy for our Mahomes…as you may remember, Barry and I are alumni of Texas Tech as is Patrick Mahomes; we are so proud of him and the rest of the Chiefs. It was an amazing game. A little factoid about the two quarterbacks, besides they’re both being black, they are both from Texas…Patrick from Whitehouse near Tyler, Texas, and Jalen is from Channelview, Texas…located on the Houston ship channel.

    • stampsnlingers

Well – that’s a pretty cool tie to Texas! And it was one heckuva game – they’re BOTH outstanding young athletes and – by all accounts – men! Thanks so much, Charlotte! 🙂

  4. I enjoy your blog, Mary. Thank you for sharing your talents !

I’m a Mahomes fan as well. I live in Tyler, but don’t know Patrick personally. I have met many people that agree that he is an outstanding athlete and a remarkable young man. He is amazing on the football field!

    • stampsnlingers

Yes he is – and I’d say his parents did a great job! Thanks so much, Karen! 🙂
