Good morning – happy Friday! Hope you’ve had a great week and are ready for the weekend! We’re doing Second Christmas tomorrow with our friends – the kids and their families will be there so…we’re looking forward to that very much! 🙂 And – this will be Paper Shares Cutting Weekend, too.
Pretty sure that’s on the National Day calendar… 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ 😎
My card today is a Joy Fold – one of my fave kinds of fun folds. It’s super easy – AND it REALLY gives me (you, too!) a LOT of real estate for showing off our gorgeous papers – like the Delicate Desert DSP and Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty DSP that I used today! The Desert Details bundle gave me sweet sentiments, pretty flowers and leaves! Take a look-see:
The desert-y color palette is from the Sunday Stamps color challenge this week!
I started with the larger card base, in Blackberry Bliss. It’s a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece, scored and folded at 3″ on the long side. The smaller card is Smoky Slate cardstock, cut to 3 1/4″ x 9″, scored and folded at 4 1/2″.
On the larger card, I cut two piece of Delicate Desert DSP – matted them on Smoky Slate – and adhered them to the small front panel (on the outside) and to the large back panel (on the inside!).
I decorated the front of the smaller Smoky Slate card with a frame that I cut using both frame dies in the Desert Details die set – bundled in with the Desert Details stamp set. I cut a Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty DSP frame by running the paper thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine with both frame dies in place.
Using Paper Snips, I trimmed the points off the short ends of the frame and then adhered the frame to the front of the small card using Foam Adhesive Strips.
Using just the smaller frame die – I cut a piece of Smoky Slate paper from the Delicate Desert DSP.
I adhered the die cut inside the frame using Liquid Glue.
I used the dies in the Desert Details set to cut two Blackberry Bliss shapes and two Night of Navy leaves and adhered them with Liquid Glue. Note: be sure that the Night of Navy leaves won’t extend past the top of the large card base!
Using a strip of Stampin’ Seal +, I adhered a length of new Pale Papaya 1/2″ Faux Velvet Trim.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the large and small flowers from the Desert Details set in Calypso Coral ink. I colored the petals a bit with my Light Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blend and cut them out with the coordinating Desert Details dies.
Using Stampin’ Dimensionals – I adhered the large flower, then tucked the smaller flower under it, using a little Liquid Glue.
I stamped the Desert Details sentiment on a Basic White strip in Blackberry Bliss and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I added some pretty Gold Faceted Adhesive-backed Sequins and the small card front was done!
For the inside, I stamped a second Desert Details sentiment in Blackberry Bliss on a piece of Smoky Slate Delicate Desert DSP. Then I used the small die in the Desert Details die set to cut out negative spaces in the corners. Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a piece of Pale Papaya Delicate Desert DSP to the back of the panel – then onto a Blackberry Bliss mat. Then I adhered it to the RIGHT side of the inside of the small card! Note: be sure to keep the opening of this small card on the RIGHT (not the left where you’re used to having it!) 😳
For the other side, I stamped the large Desert Details flower in Calypso Coral on a Basic White panel. Once again, I added some more color with my Light Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blend. Then I adhered the panel to a Blackberry Bliss mat and onto the LEFT side of the inner panel.
Using Liquid Glue on the back of the small Smoky Slate card, I adhered it to the back inside panel of the large Blackberry Bliss card – and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Desert Details flower in Calypso Coral and Pale Papaya on the front…
…and a little more Delicate Desert DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! This is one of my favorite new Suites – the colors, the images, the pretty die cuts! I love how this cool Joy Fold really lets the Delicate Desert DSP shine – as does the Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty Paper that I used for the frame! The Desert Details stamp set is a DistINKtive set – giving it instant detail and depth when you stamp – and then you can cut it – and lots of other cool shapes! – right out with the bundled die set. Yes!
