Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Daydream Easter Card

Happy Happy Hawwmp Day!  Have you recovered from the switch to Daylight Savings Time?  I’m all happy at night but the mornings are still sort of a booger!  I DID see on the news last night that Congress has made Daylight Savings “permanent”.  Not sure what that means, but…I HOPE it means that the Spring Forward Fall Back mnemonic will be obsolete soon!  Fingers crossed.

I know that y’all are working on Easter Cards, so…I thought I’d bring another idea to you today!  The gorgeous Daffodil Daydream bundle – with the Daffodil Dies – is a perfect choice.  Take a look-see:

I played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week.  I went across the top (Easter, Butterfly, Vellum), and the bottom (Die Cut, Spring Colors, Floral).

I started by adhering a Paper Lattice to a Basic White panel, using Liquid Glue, to create the card front.

I put some Basic White cardstock into my Stamparatus and used the Marker-to-Stamp technique to color both of the flower images in the Daffodil Daydream set.

I colored the flowers with a combination of Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody Stampin’ Write Markers and the leaves with my Granny Apple Green marker.  The Stamparatus is really a critical tool for this method – it lets you color – stamp – color – stamp – etc.  Until you get everything colored to make you happy!

I cut both flowers with their matching dies from the Daffodil Dies.

I used my Light So Saffron and Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends to fill in the images.

I needed some grass – so I used both grass dies in the set to cut two Granny Apple Green blades and four from the white-script-printed Vellum Layering Designs paper.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered two of the vellum grass blades over the Granny Apple Green grasses.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere all the grass and the two flower die cuts together to form a bouquet.

I wrapped a length of the Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine around the stems and tied a little knot – then I popped the bouquet onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped a butterfly from Daffodil Daydream in Polished Pink on Basic White and cut it with its Daffodil Die.  I colored it with the Light So Saffron and Light Polished Pink Blends and adhered it with a Dimensional.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the Daffodil Daydream sentiment in Polished Pink.  I cut it with the smallest tag in the Tailor Made Tags set.

I ran more of the Crumb Cake Baker’s twine thru the hole in the tag and tied a little bow.  Then I used double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the sentiment in place.

I finished up with some Polished Pink 2021-2023 In Color Gems and the card front was done.

For the inside, I stamped the Daffodil Daydream butterfly a few times and colored it with the Blends.  Then I used the splatters stamp to add some Granny Apply Green around them.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Polished Pink mat and into my Granny Apple Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got more butterflies and splatters on the front…

…and a little Daffodil Delight paper from the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP.

Et Voila!  Daffodils – Spring – Easter.  All of a piece!  Daffodil Daydream is such a lovely set – and the Daffodil Dies, bundled with the set, let you cut out the stamped images or…wonderful petals to create stunning 3D flowers! Which means you can be as simple – or over-the-top! – as you like!

I hope you like!

IMPORTANT SHIPPING UPDATE

Folsom Blues Breakout Half Marathon - Price bump ahead! Enter by August 31 at 11:59 to avoid the next entry fee price increase. https://runsignup.com/Race/CA/Folsom/FolsomBluesBreakout | Facebook

I wanted to let you know about an upcoming change to Stampin’ Up!’s shipping and handling pricing.  Starting 1 April, the minimum shipping charge will increase by $1.00, so – from $6.95 to $7.95—or by one percentage point (from 10% to 11% of the total order amount) —whichever is greater.

If you ever use the expedited shipping options, those fees are going up a bit too.  Here are the new fees for expedited shipping:

  • Next Day Upgrade: $38.00 ($3.00 increase from the previous rate)
  • 2nd Day Upgrade: $23.00 US ($3.00 increase from the previous rate)
  • 3 Day Shipping Upgrade: $15.00 ($5.00 increase from the previous rate)

The expedited shipping option rates above are calculated in addition to the standard shipping rate (e.g., the next day shipping option would cost $7.95 or 11%—whichever is greater—plus $38.00)

I just wanted to make sure you’re aware of this change, as it impacts both you AND me.

Stampin’ Up! has worked to keep the increase as minimal as possible so they can continue bringing you the unique, high-quality, and coordinated paper crafting products that you love.

Finn Fan Fix

As we did our last walk last night – in the blessed light of Daylight Savings! – we kept hearing this thumbing sound.

Thump.  Thump.  Thump….

Finn – on his usual bottle-carrying mission, apparently didn’t hear it until…we got to where the sound was actually coming from.

Turned out our neighbor was practicing his lacrosse…pass?  Serve?  Throw?  I dunno – he had the lacrosse bat thingy and was throwing the lacrosse…ball?…into a thing like a trampoline that bounced the lacrosse ball thingy back to him so he could catch it in the lacrosse bat thingy. 🤷‍♀️

Thump.  Thump.  Thump.

Nope – not a very good ball game, huh, bud?

He did a doggy shrug (people are…weird) and continued on his way.

  1. Such a beautiful card! Love the colors and those daffodils are amazing! Yeah…people are weird. And it’s really weird that we somehow thing that we can save an hour by changing our clocks twice a year. Have my fingers crossed that the craziness will end in 2023. I don’t care which time they pick…just pick one and commit! 🙂

Waith – that’s not how it works?!? 😳😳 Thanks so much, Amy! 🙂

  2. Beautiful card. As I understand it, if it passes, we will have more daylight at night and no longer have to fall back and spring forward. We’ll see.

Fingers crossed that they don’t leave a loophole for states to do it or not and we end up with some “in” and some “out”! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Thanks, Karen! 🙂
