Good morning and happy Sunday! Did you guys eat any ice cream yesterday? As expected, I did not. 🙁 So – I hope YOU did and maybe had an extra scoop for me!

My friend Amy Koenders did a card a week or so back with the fun little Kite Delight stamp set, and I loved it. This was a set I had passed by a few times – I’m betting maybe you have as well – so…I had to go back and see what I’d missed. Now that I have it – and the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP (the FREE pack from Sale-A-Bration) – I am really glad I went ahead and got it – it’s so fun! And – having the Cloud Punch in my stash was a happy thing! Take a look-see:
The layout for this one was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.
I started by adhering a piece of Basic White cardstock to a Magenta Madness cardstock mat for the card front.
I cut a piece of fun Sunshine & Rainbows DSP (get this one FREE with a $50 purchase, but…ONLY thru 28 Feb!! 😳😳😳) and set it in place on the card front.
I stamped the tail of the kite in Tuxedo Black – cutting across the seam with the image. Then I matted the DSP on Magenta Madness and adhered it in place with Liquid Glue. I used a Black Stampin’ Write Marker to fill in the “gap” on the mat.
I stamped the Kite Design sentiment in Magenta Madness above the matted DSP panel.
On another piece of Basic White, I stamped the Kite Delight kite in Tuxedo Black and cut it out with my Paper Snips. Then I colored it with my Flirty Flamingo and Magenta Madness Stampin’ Write Markers.
Using the Cloud Punch, I punched clouds from a piece of the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP – it’s printed all over with clouds and I cut them ALL out! Tip: you can even use the partial clouds – just tuck them under other elements – or…butt them up against an edge of the card front! 🙂
I laid out my kite and clouds and then stamped the sweet little sun image from Kite Delight in So Saffron.
I adhered the clouds with Liquid Glue and then popped the kite over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the kite tail again – twice – once on a Flirty Flamingo design and again on a Magenta Madness design – in Tuxedo Black. I fussy cut two of each of the bows and then used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals – cut in half – to adhere them over the stamped tail on the card front.
Using a Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend, I colored five small and two large white dots from the Classic Matte Dots. When they’d dried, I stuck a small one on each of the bows and the large one next to the sentiment – and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second Kite Delight sentiment in Magenta Madness. In the corner, I added the kite and tail, coloring the bows with my Flirty Flamingo and Magenta Madness Stampin’ Write Markers. I added one of the small colored Classic Matte Dots to the bow on the kite tail and a large one near the sentiment.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Magenta Madness mat and into my Thick Basic White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the kite on the front…
…and more of the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! See? I TOLD you Kite Delight was cute (yes – go BACK and take a second look!)! I love the sentiments – and there are four fun kite designs and a couple of tails to pick from! In addition to the sun and a fun little cloud, too! And I love how well the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP works for it, too (tip: I stuck my extra Cloud Punch DSP clouds in the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set to use on another card!!).

The solitary pony guard stares pensively out thru the pasture, ruthlessly scanning for deer, rogue squirrels, the ever-elusive and deadly figment. Nothing must get past him, he knows. His thoughts are deep. As he contemplates his universe, the knowledge that he, and he alone, is solely responsible for the welfare of the two blonde ponies grazing without a care…weighs heavy upon his head.
He thought back to the day in the whelping box when his mother, Bonnie, told him..son….you have been marked with the sacred broken collar and you will be a great warrior. You will go forth in this world and find humans who will depend on you for their very lives and the lives of their cherished pets – yes, even stupid cats (humans are weird – but…they make really yummy treats so…we put up with them). But! You will reap the rewards of their gratitude and to whom much is given…muc….
