Stampin’ Up! Nature’s Harvest on Timeworn Black!

Good Tuesday to you all!  Hope the week is going well – and if you were impacted by Ida – that it was as minimal as possible.  We’re looking for rain today – hard to say how much.  But we’re ready!  By which I mean I have a LOT of towels by the back door – cuz the Finn-ster LOVES running around in the rain! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

My card today is one I made while crafting with friends on my Zoom the Craftroom yesterday – which was fun!  I used the Nature’s Harvest bundle (which you can get for FREE if you join the team during Sale-a-Bration!) with the Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder.  Take a look-see:

I picked the Nature’s Harvest set to work with based on the Just Add Ink challenge.

I started with a piece of Basic Black cardstock that I embossed in the Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder and matted on Bumble Bee for the card front.

Next I used my Blending Brushes to add REALLY un-blended splotches of Pumpkin Pie and Cinnamon Cider ink on pieces of Cinnamon Cider and Bumble Bee card stock. Serious – it looked bad! 😉

But then, I used the dies in the Harvest Die set (bundled with the Nature’s Harvest stamp set) to cut a wildflower and grasses from the blotchy Bumble Bee piece and a single coneflower from the blotchy Cinnamon Cider panel.  And all of a sudden – those blotchy panels became beautiful!

I also cut two “branches” from some gorgeous Gold Shimmer Vellum.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the flowers and grasses and branches to the card front.

I used my Dark Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blend to color a pretty long length of Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon (this is a REALLY cool thing you can do – and it means you can have ALMOST any color of ribbon you need!).

I looped the ribbon four times around my hand and then used a piece of Basic Black twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack to tie a bow around the middle – making a bow-on-top-of-a-sort-of-double-loop-bow bow!

I adhered the bow in place with Liquid Glue.

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the Nature’s Harvest sentiment in Cinnamon Cider on Bumble Bee and cut it with the longer label die in the Harvest Die set.

I used double-stacked Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment label over the ribbon, added some Bumble Bee Matte Decorative Dots and the card front was done.

On the inside, I inked the splotch image from Nature’s Harvest with Pumpkin Pie ink, stamped it off once on scrap paper and then stamped it in the corner of a Very Vanilla panel.  I stamped the small floral from the set over the top in Cinnamon Cider.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Bumble Bee mat and into my Cinnamon Cider card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the splotch and floral on the front…

…and again on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I am SO grateful to the Just Add Ink designers for giving me another reason to pull out one of my favorite things – the Nature’s Harvest Bundle!  I love the Harvest Dies so much – and the sentiments in the stamp set are wonderful!  The gorgeous Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder comes thru again – adding perfect texture behind the die cuts.  And…don’t they just…GLOW against their black backdrop!?

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Sometimes when horses sleep in stalls and lay down to rest, they’ll roll over too close to the stall wall.  Most of the time, they can extricate themselves and get back up.

But – sometimes – they don’t.  They’re stuck until a human comes to help them back up.

We call that…getting “cast”.

And when a 1000 pound horse does it – it’s scary.  They can panic and injure themselves.  And getting them up takes some tact and skill to get them out of the mess they got themselves into.

When an 85 pound Aussie sleeps too close to the side of the kennel….

…it looks a LOT like he’s “cast”.

But…

….Nope.  Just sleepin’ here, Mom.  Not ready to get up, either, so….move along! 😉

”Cast” sounds scary for horses. Glad Finn was able to move around on his own! He actually looks very comfy!
