Stampin’ Up! Art in Bloom Dear Friend with Video Tutorial

Happy Sunday, y’all!  Hope the weekend is going well!  We ran errands yesterday and I’ve got our monthly Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Meeting today – so, that cool!  We’ve got a couple of fun projects using the Color & Contour bundle – one of my faves! – to do “together” (it’s a Zoom meeting since we’re scattered all over – yeah for the internet!!).  We always have fun at our meetings!

So – if you were able to join me last night for my Facebook live, I sure appreciate you spending part of your weekend with me!  If not, but you’d like to watch the replay to see how to make this pretty floral card, here ’tis!

I pulled out the new-to-me Art in Bloom Bundle for this one.  This bundle has THREE components – the Art in Bloom stamp set, the Bloom Die set AND the Bloom “hybrid” Embossing Folder!  I’ll explain that one in a minute!  I paired the bundle with some beautiful Hand-Penned DSP.  Take a look-see:

I played along with the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week (I love Tic-Tac-Toe challenges!). Across the diagonal: Die Cut – Friend – Yellow!

And it fits pretty perfectly with the Global Design Project theme challenge, too!

I started with a piece of Hand-Penned DSP in the same size as the front of my Garden Green card base (so…4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Next up – I put a piece of Basic White cardstock into the Bloom Hybrid Embossing Folder and ran it thru my Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  Tip: you can use this hybrid folder two ways: you can place the appropriate die from the Bloom Die set right in the folder – WITH the card stock – and emboss and cut the flowers at the same time.  Or…you can do like I did here – leaving the die OUT and ONLY embossing!

I matted the embossed panel on Daffodil Delight and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the three-bloom image from Art in Bloom in Tuxedo Black on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  Then I used the three fill images to stamp each flower with Mango Melody ink.

I placed the three-flower die from the Bloom Die set inside the Bloom Hybrid Embossing Folder, lined up the stamped image on the cardstock with the dies and ran it all thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine – using the sandwich for embossing with 3D folders (so…the basic platform and the gray Specialty Plate).  That produced three beautifully colored and embossed flowers to use on my project! 🙂

I stamped two leaves images from Art In Bloom in Mint Macaron on Basic White and cut them with their leaf die.  I also used the detailed leaf die to cut leaves from the Hand-Penned DSP and from Garden Green cardstock.

I popped my die cut flowers over the corresponding flowers on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals – then tucked the leaves in with Liquid Glue.

I tied a bow using a double-length of white twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack and adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot.

The Art in Bloom sentiment is stamped in Garden Green on Basic White, cut with a Tasteful Labels die and popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A few Mint Macaron Genial Gems scattered about finished off the card front!

On the inside, I added the fun bar code image (that’s what it looks like, okay???) from Art in Bloom in Mint Macaron across the bottom of a Basic White panel.  Then I added the little three-flower image in Mango Melody.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into the Garden Green card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Art In Bloom “bar code” and flowers on the front…

…and more of the Hand-Penned DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Okay – for real.  How cool is this three-piece Art In Bloom Bundle??  The stamp set and Bloom Dies would be pretty amazing all by themselves, but…the Bloom Hybrid Embossing Folder takes it all to a new level of BAMMM!  Hand-Penned DSP just makes it all the more gorgeous. 🙂

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

I managed to catch this picture the other morning.

I read somewhere that dogs will lay with their heads dangling off a bed or couch when they are relaxed and unconcerned about danger.  So..I guess Finny feels pretty safe and comfortable in his bedroom, huh?  And apparently there are also no interlopers on his radar.

And –  few things are cuter to me than down-ear dogs sacked out with their ears in up-ear position.  I think it makes them look like little foxes.

Or at least THIS one does!

Seriously.  He sleeps cuter than any dog ever!

(No offense to those of you who believe that YOUR dog is the cutest sleeper ever! 😉 )
